Alblaka: No, right, actually. I didn't say the bench attacking decks always win, I said that the format was dominated by them. Your deck, being designed to defeat the bench-attack decks is an excellent example of how players are forced to either play the deck, play against it, or lose.

5-card is very different from 3-card. For one thing, constructed 5-card is dominated by bench-hitting decks. As such, it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense for the same ranking earned in 3-card to apply to 5-card. Two players could earn similar rankings without ever having to play each other. Someone could consistently win in 5-card only to find themselves stomped at the same rank in 3-card. And, as much as it would be a problem using the same ranking system for the 2 different modes it would be even worse implementing 2 ranking systems for the same game. I assume this is why there is no ranked 5-card.

sometimes kongai just decides that you lose. I'm sitting on a 73 hp onimaru vs. a 3 hp yoshiro, guess who wins? I'll give you a hint: its the guy who dodges and then stuns 3 times in a row.

There isn't another flash game like this. The gameplay is exciting and the simplicity of the controls is brilliant. Great game. 5/5

CantankerousM: I wasn't suggesting that Tafari himself was subpar. If pressed I'd put Tafari and Phoebe somewhere in the middle 10 and Zina in the bottom 5. My point was that the team as a whole was lacking a certain something (no tank, long-range character for a starter, none of the top 5 characters, no character with their preferred item)

Then again, playing on random sometimes you get luck screwed before the game even starts. I can't remember the last time andromeda has been in my deck and not been my starting character. I just played a game where my characters were Andromeda, VV, and Yoshi my opponent started Helene with reinforced breastplate. My first thought was, "well, I dont have a way to beat that."

Just because you don't have or can't get cards doesn't make the game bad. I've been playing entirely with random decks and doing just fine. I've just gotten to the level where it seems everyone has all the cards and are playing basically the same deck and this certainly makes the game harder but I'm still doing ok. Just yesterday I managed to beat one of the top players in the game with the relatively subpar Tafari, Phoebe, and Zina.

I've seen the art for the new cards but, I think releasing it when they did was a bad idea. As soon as you give nerds a peak at what's coming they become obsessed with it. They should have held the art until they at least knew when the next cards were coming out. As a result we're all acting like children in the backseat of a car asking "are we there yet?" incessently when obviously, we'll know it when it happens. And whenever it is, we'll then have the joy of listening to people complain about how the cards are too broken or too terrible.

PeuDragoon: I think that the close-only cards are pretty good in general but, you've chosen two awful examples to illustrate your point. MLM is actually close-range himself (his only long range move brings him close) and does pretty well against tanks, with general's insignia he kills Ashi, Onimaru, and Helene in two Vampiric Touches. Amaya is a little trickier but, he's got a pretty good game vs. Oni. His matchups vs. Ashi and Helene are fairly dependent on items, his innate ability and how well his opponent manages their energy.

I don't have a lot of cards so I always play on random. It would be great if there were a ranked random v random option so that I don't always have to play against constructed decks with my random pile of cards. Also, it would be good if you got to choose your character order when playing on random. I've been forced to start andromeda 2 of my last 3 games.

So, Iwent to play some ranked, waited 30 secs, decided to leave because noone was coming. Right as I hit cancel, an opponent showed up, I picked my deck, it counted down then it said "you lose." I thought to myself, that sucks, went to play again and suddenly the game started. I made my first move, waited for my opponent for 60 seconds while he did nothing, then declared victory. I really wish I knew why that all happened.

so, i advance 6 soldiers to the next map, right as my 7th guy is about to cross over, the next wave spawns, he gets stuck in close combat and I watch ten germans just mosey on across my lines while he flails away at some jerk for the next 2 mins. Fix close combat, please.

ok, i understand that "Soldiers will engage any targets they see automatically starting by the nearest." but, wouldn't it make more sense for soldiers that have weapons designed for taking out tanks to shoot at tanks rather than firing a bazooka at a soldier 10ft away? I'm sick of my snipers shooting at armored vehicles thay can't hurt while my bazooka men are shooting at infantry they can't hit.

even if anex doesn't get far she can win pretty easily: 1) hide/enchant, 2) ambush/c. slash, 3) get far, b. chakkra -> dead tafari. It isn't a good idea to ambush Anex into her extra damage range.

NewCreation: Everyone knows what its like to lose, its not fun. The only thing thats fun about losing is the thought and possiblity that you could turn it around and win the game. Without a little (or lot) of luck its almost impossible to turn around a losing game. I think the fun of winning a loser makes up for the pain of losing a winner.
