I don't get it, did I win? I've upgraded everything and I clear stages just by hitting the go button and switching tabs to something more entertaining, but the levels just keep coming. Did I miss an upgrade or something?
Awesome game. Really like the sound effects and the music phasing. Graphics and controls both work well. The concept is nothing new, but executed nicely.
On the claims that this is a rip off of Motherload I have to disagree. The similarities end at digging for stuff and upgrading your drill, the gameplay is still quite different.
Also, there's no way you could have all the upgrades by Day 3, I'm not buying it.
This game is incredibly frustrating. One hit knocks off half your bubble bar and shots often come in large waves that can send you back several levels. Worse yet, the shots are almost always from off screen where you can't see them, or from nearly adjacent to your ship where you can't react to them. The concept is really cool, but the difficulty is absurd. It's like playing Ikaruga with half a controller, then dipping the controller in grease and lobbing off both your hands.
The entire game is terrible, I can't believe I have to play this for a quest. There's zero music and the only sound effects are sword clashes. The graphics are flat and clunky, and I could say the same for the gameplay. At first my leader died instantly which prevented me from actually entering combat, and now my soldiers die instantly instead because you can't upgrade them at all. I think you get new units from each town you conquer, but that doesn't help much if every town's defenses are invincible compared my insta death soldiers.
Random gems were a terrible idea that only led to frustration when I kept getting the wrong ones, and there're too many levels with too little variety, though limiting available gems was a cool idea. Overall, a sequel has potential, but this iteration only gets an average score of 3/5.
