Game comments and reviews

Still one of my favorite games. It's amazing that I can come back 7-8 years after it was published and still marvel at the awesomeness of the gameplay. I really wish you guys would've considered making another sequel to it instead of trying those other 3D games at zachtronics. Especially if you'd made a mobile game like this, I'd play the hell out of that.

Love the art, nicely polished game... Just wish it was a little less... Russian. Even in English, the NPC's are all "For the Motherland!" lol And you've probably got some translation typos, like "Critial Intoxication" instead of Critical (when drinking too much.)

I would like the option to play my Android/Google Play account on my PC, but I don't want to be forced to use Facebook, and obviously since I'm here I don't mind using Kongregate... but the Kong version of Shop Heroes has no option to link to Google Play. Surely that wouldn't be hard to fix.

Developer Reply

There are two ways to play Shop Heroes on your PC, and that is Facebook and Kongregate. Due to Kongregate's policy, we are unable to sync any accounts to it. This will leave only Facebook as an option. Is there something we can clarify or help you to play on Facebook?

Recommended "Because you rated Fantastic Contraption highly." Even though the two games could not be more different... Fix your crap, Kongregate.

1 star for using Kongregate as a platform to get people to test and hype the demo for something you're eventually going to charge money for on Steam, and getting exposure for your Kickstarter. Kongregate shouldn't be used like that.

Started up the game for the first time... Saw that a battle took 3 Energy and that I have an Energy bar of 100... rated 1 star and quit. I refuse to play mobile-esque energy gated games.

A side-scroller? Plech. I'd come to love your other time-management games, and was sad that you haven't made any more in quite some time. I may not be giving this a fair shake, but... it's a bit of a letdown.

I want to like games like this, but my first large problem with it is the animation of when your pet moves forward to do an attack. I dunno about the others, but the Flofox just kindof waddle/rotates forward in a jerky motion, and it's kindof an eyesore. Good static 2d art does not a good game make. Or something.

Upvote for CrownHeiress' comment. I'd love to see a female character as an option. And kudos for the Minecraft Steve head.

So I just started out, got to the first alchemizing mission where you have to craft a Hot Edge which requires Brimstone, which I had none of, and had no idea where to go looking to get some (I'd finished all the other Rank missions I could, and decided to go try some Arcade ones.) Lo and behold, barely 2 or 3 levels in, I'm "out of Energy" and can't progress without spending money or paying 8k crowns for 100 Energy, when I'm such a newbie I only have a little over 1k. So the game has pretty much left me in a "don't know where to go or what to do" state, and I can't have fun doing other stuff without spending money or grinding crowns like crazy. So that top comment about "you can just use crowns!" is kinda BS. Fishdawg has it right with elevators being too energy-expensive.

I was looking at the comments to see if the game was worth playing, and saw Fishdawg's comment. If you can only play for like an hour without spending money, that's the type of retarded game that I usually avoid.

Question: It says hidden items can be found up to a max depth of 250, but on all the worlds I've been to, the bottom seems to be depth 145... Am I missing something?

This game is amazingly fun, and I don't give such compliments lightly. While I know Kongregate doesn't listen to comments of this nature, I can't help but say that this needs badges.

Art department: For the record, I don't think teriyaki chicken strips look like awful lumpy turds. Or like they've been charred.

@Herosoyyo: Yep. Ah, VV... Velvet Velour. But anyway, almost anything with vampires these days rips off something from VtM. VtM is the grandfather of everything (good) about vampires, IMO. You've got Underworld, Trueblood and Twilight all with vampires and werewolves and the same hierarchical setup present in Vampire: the Masquerade. They can never really come up with anything original.

While I like being able to create my own character, I find myself more bored with Wingeria, and not liking the mathematical element of balancing items on a plate. I much more enjoyed the gameplay of Freezeria/Pancakeria as far as having physical objects, such as dropping berries or drizzling syrup on a pancake/sundae.

omg. I just now noticed the Wingeria sign out front that says "Hungry?" is subtly designed... a nugget, a downward-pointing wang -- err, wing -- and another nugget.

I've loved all the Papa's games in the past, but... the mechanics of this one seem clunky and more complex (not that complexity is a bad thing, but I mean it in the sense that it feels less fluid, less fun as a result.) Maybe I just haven't played it long enough to get used to it, but I enjoyed the past 2-3 Papa's games far more.

Neighbors and an energy bar with a lightning bolt... Looks like another Farmville, plech. I was gone in the instant I saw that. Would've been nice if you'd simply not limited people's amount of fun with a time-based energy bar.
