Oh damn, its here! Completely didn't expect that, and what a pleasant surpise it is indeed! Thank you, Kurechii, for all your work, this game is even more awesome than the first one!
Final mission: 1) Build starport
2) Order super-carriers
3) Build a physic lab
4) Build 3 more physics labs when you have the credits
5) Watch how enemies can't even enter the screen
Troll tactic that will win you many levels: 1) Unlock and equip Constructor
2) Preferrably unlock building auto-repair and building armor
3) Small maps: put a constructor towards an enemy base right from the start, pause the game, spam the turrets of your choice in the enemy's base (I prefer the repeater ones), unpause, win.
4) Large maps: Get yourself a bit of power generators and defend with turrets. Save a bit of resources, and basecrawl with your Constructors towards your enemy's base. Pause. Spam. Win
Turretpushes ftw.
New class idea (Maybe a possible class, the soon-implemented archer will branch off to): Canoneer. Very high attack radius, circle-shaped attack pattern (Like thief's blinding dust), small area in the center - critical. Can damage himself with his attacks for like 0.5 damage, only means of close-range defense are his abilities (Some ideas: Cannon Swing: Like a normal thief's attack, 3 sp, Landmines: Place a projectile invisible to an opponent, can place up to 3 landmines on the field simulatenously; Explode: Explode all the landmines on the field, same attack pattern as the main weapon's shots; Charge: Your main weapon attacks have wider attack and crit pattern and deal 30% more damage for the next 3 turns)
A surefire strategy for every unitspam tactics-fan here: Choose Lex. At the start, you play defensively, first upgrading your farm, then castle, and adding a tower(s). If you see that you will be attacked soon (Lots of troops on standby on the other side), start spamming villagers and keep them on defense. After that, keep upgrading your resource structures and upgrading warriors/archers and cavalry on later levels. After you max your resource production, upgrade the units, then just spam them and 2-3 cavalry until you max your army size, then use the Call of Duty special and go push (Try not to use special if you sense that your opponent will use his damage-dealing special soon, or it will kill all your villagers).
And just keep using swordrain as it cooldowns since the start, cuz it is cheap and helps with the defense early on.
Like i said at the start, i cleared every level playing this way and haven't lost once. You should try it, if you haven't played this way yourself :)
Awesome game. And i say it as the fan of this kind of strategies. The graphics are stylish, music is fine, many troop types, interesting heroes... Reminded me a bit of Advance Wars, especially with the ability animations. But it still could use some improvements. First, the characters are no way balanced. The starting hero is overpowered because of his mega-spell (Solution: Make him get 2-3 bonus troops with the castle upgrade, not 5), and Magnus-Steelblade is useless (Solution - remove the attack speed penalty from his starting spell and the mega-spell always affects your most pricey unit, not some random one). Second: Some kind of free mode, with customizable settings, such as technology level (Kinds of stuff you can build), starting resources, characters for you and your opponent, difficulity level, etc.
Thats all i can think of. Otherwise, excellent game with a huge amount of fun for every strategy-fan, 5/5.
Yay, finally cleared it. Pretty easy once you get used to controlling your troops.
Elves+Mounted Archers+Retreat'n'Stop=Instant win, haven't built any other unit, besides the ones needed for shields.
Was starting off great, but AI of your units need alot of improvement. For example: castle is under attack and i have a bunch of mounted archers, which need to pass an intersection on their way back. And guess what? When i order them to kill the attackers, they suddenly take the wrong turn and start recapturing some damn house. How lame is that?
And i thought that i am used to this kind of games. It was pretty intense, it is well-planned, and it is a rare game when every skill you can get is actually useful. 5/5
