Reuse sprites. Reuse music. Reuse gameplay. Effort.

In dire need of updates. This is amazing, but the lack of content hurts the overall play time. I'd gladly pay if this had more padding.

You wasted 20 minutes of my life, you bastards. I have nothing kind to say about this game.

Simply glorious. Tightest roguelike mechanics of any game of the genre on this site. Also probably the best rogue gameplay of the genre as well.

Literally awful. Half the 'puzzles' are based on luck and incovenience.

Dammit, finally. With all the boring, stale game concepts out there (Looking at you, time management, tower defense, 2-side 'strategy' and numerous overhead rpgs), it feels good to finally find a brilliantly simple and addicting game that is actually fun to play.

Did... did the final boss just bug out on me? 70% hp, suddenly screen freezes and displays the victory screen. Ending. 35/40 golden crowns - no other stages are present. I'm left scratching my head at whether this was a bug or the game was released unfinished. It sure feels like it.

Random chance in this entire series is some of the most wonky mathematics Ive ever seen employed in a game.

Wow, it's like squareland! ...except published centuries later, infinitely more lame and less thought-provoking as well as beating the zombie horse of pixel minimalism.

This is not the most perfectly executed or presented game on kongegate, but it's got the heart of things in the right place. I wish more games here were like this. Good job guys.

Such a great concept ruined by the standard casual multiplayer bullshit...

Eh, I really wish I could like this game, it has alot of heart. But good lord this is tedious. The controls feel incredibly stiff in combat, with the melee range of a slap attack and enemies instantly canceling those out with theirs, encouraging mashing A button above anything else. The walls are sticky and wont let you just walk off of them, the spikes have terrible hit detection and are overrelied on as obstacle because the level design is so bland. Stage 1-4 had a section that was literally pulling levers so you could pull levers to open more rooms with levers to pull. There are literally dozens of pointless levels right in front of the door they open. It begs to be asked why those are there is the first place. That is not good gameplay design.

@ChippyYYZ You are confusing story and character development, as far as plot goes, it's quite mediocre. The music is also good, but terribly misplaced and while the dialogue is usually far above what I usually see in flash games, there are still many incredibly wooden lines. I sincerely wish there would be a sequel with all the flaws ironed out.

@kevin_saz Somehow, I don't see anybody else having trouble posting their opinions on the game here. In fact, I don't feel obligated to join a forum to do so.

@albertillo I'm not here to start a drama, if you find flaws in my arguments, just point them out and I will reconsider. ...also it's "stfu".

Ending: o_o Let's just say I was disappointed. By all of them. The same sappy music kept playing and never stopped. I didnt even notice if it changed to main menu music or was main menu music all along. The endings felt empty and distant. And abrupt.

It's especially frustrating since even the free space to move is smaller than it looks, your ships just refuses to come in contact with the edge of the screen, making some of the hits after the boss goes under 50% hp entirely unavoidable. The only option it seems is to grind your level until your HP pool is large enough, but what the hell has grinding lost in a shmup game? Grinding is THE one RPG element one should NOT implement in his game, the game is already repetitive as hell, counting the fact that 66% of it is retreading of first 10 levels. Repeatedly repeating the repetitive levels is not fun.

And the final boss. Oh god, the final boss, one of the most unfair, luck-driven boss fights in I've ever seen. The whole enemy laser system of the game is either glitched or random. They appear instantly, with no regard if you may be on top of them or not, half the time you dont know when it's safe to go through them and the final boss especially LOVES to cheapshot you with them out of nowhere, or just close you between two of them and spam several bullets there (Not counting constant aimed red bullets).
