Cool remake! I wanted to point out to other users that the energy gain is not halved from the original swarmsim...as long you are willing to watch an ad. The 2x bonus when opening the game applies to energy too, so energy gain is basically the same as the original, plus crystals and chronomancy. I love that this game rewards offline time more than online time.
Second, is there any description of differences between this version and the original? The main reason I am playing is to see what changed, and see if there is anything new to try. Up through the first ascension, all I found were crystals, gold bugs, elixirs, rocket fuel, and energy gain/2. Did anything escape me? But now that I have ascended once, I am finding unpleasant surprises, like the "drone" mutation only affects drones. All the lore on the original game seems to now be obsolete. Any new descriptions of mutations?
4/5 - the original was 5/5, but this one isn't enough different to merit outstanding creative work, so far.
Great game! Especially early on, I really enjoyed it up to about gen 4 and thorium cells, then the game was slow and there was little to look forward to, despite the recent updates.
Suggestion: introduce something to either improve generators' efficiency (less water consumed) or increase water pump speed. I would have liked to see circulators increase generator efficiency rather than max water - would have really amped the game up again. As is, circulators are disappointing because the optimal ratio of pumps:gens went from ~3:1 to ~7:1. Everything is limited by the water pump speed now, and there is no longer a sense of progress. The new technologies do not really change much because the most efficient layouts are the ones with the most water pumps being used evenly. Changing circulators at this point would mess up people's builds, so maybe make a version of a circulator for the water pump that increases water production?
