Great concept, I was happy to even buy the game on the App store, but then I realized there are 17 level sets to buy separately. Call me cheap but I don't think its worth $22 (nz store) for the full game.
The final boss is not primarily hinged on luck once you get a grip on how it plays. The boss will attack you as a priority over any other move. So set up defense (or counter if unable) if you see more than attacking move that he can play. Otherwise attack and he will be unable to respond. Also use this to try to build 4,5 and 6 at a time breaks. Only set these up when he can attack you, otherwise he will break your combos, or worse use them himself. Luck still plays a part, but this brings more of your skill into it.
Interesting concept, but even on hard difficulty, wasn't difficult enough (excluding fake difficulty from boss fights). Not really a challenge if you can remotely touch type...
Very smooth, stylish game. Bullet paths are rather easy, and the indestructible side pods make the 'shield' evolution pathway way too easy. Otherwise quite enjoyable. 3.5/4
