Classic story line but great use of imagery to create a rather poetic atmosphere out of such a simple and short game. I love the idea of a journey within yourself that materialize into reducing the amount of pixels you're made of (going to the essential or am I reading to much into it ? :p ). Loved the game mechanism, not challenging but not so easy or slow that you'll get bored during the platform and enigma fazes. Even the ending is nice, not being over dramatic or getting the character suddenly become over cheerful ! Overall I had a lot of fun playing it so 5/5 and favorited, great work :)
I didn't really get into the atmosphere of the game, probably because we get that we are dreaming from the start and there isn't really that much dialogue or action in the game. Seemed like it could have been one of my own dreams though and the art alone gives it a 5/5 imo, worth playing and replaying in case you didn't get all the orbs
And finally, I dislike it when a weak game makes the promotion of books or movies, because it just make it seem as though the other products will have the same quality as the game...
2/5
Ok I'm guessing my commentary is going to get quiet a few criticism but I really did not find this game great and / or interesting overall. I find the voice and the commentary get quiet nagging very fast, the art is fine but I find the main character horribly shallow. I also think that although the use of a second character makes the game borderline interesting (yep, it's not really innovating but at least it's a nice add to these sort of games) but that it is so buggy it can get frustrating especially in the last few levels (having to restart because the dog did not jump exactly as you would have wanted it to for instance). Overall, this mouse controlled character often gets stuck when he happens to go from a platform to another or when the platform isn't perfectly horizontal. Again, although it doesn't seem like a huge handicap it actually is pretty frustrating since the controls are so approximative.
Way too easy imo. Upgrades do not have any value and although you can choose from 4 guns it seems I'm not the only one to only have gone for 2 especially since the tutorial shows them all to you from the start and you don't have the time to get them all before the game ends :S. Same goes for achievements, the only hard one to get is the full upgrade one cause it would mean continue playing through easy and ultimately boring lvls...
So I'm only giving it 2/5 for the 10-15min I've taken playing it
Ok, this game is not really brilliant, the mechanisms are well known and not as elaborated as the top games here. On the other hand it's the first time I really wanted to play a runner game because of the story line, I wish game creators went the extra mile while thinking of the story line in their games. Although yours might not be extremely detailed (a few "ages" + 2-3 comments as we progress) it's still way more interesting than any I have played before. Giving it 5/5, hope you continue making even more detailed and inspired games but also so others can realize the storyline is never an option, even if it's a runner game or anything straightforward
very nice escape game, fun to play, not hard but not so easy that it gets boring. Only little complain would be about the overall atmosphere that has become a key element of every good point and click game and which seems to be somewhat missing in this game. Still a very nice way to pass 10-20 minutes :) 4/5
ok lots of bugs : most problematic one is that to start a lvl you actually have to press restart and then the game proceeds as though you had already done the first killing :p
i just want to point out that imo what gives the status of "hardest" to those game wether they are platformers or scrollers or really any type of game involving these kind of skills, is mostly dependent on the perfect control you can have over the avatar and a clear vision of the enemies's attack. Here, we do have difficult passages no doubt, but the real skill is to be able to say "yep, during this passage i must remember that i can't go any closer even if there is still seemingly space cause either the kill box actually includes a little of my hero's surrounding or maybe it's just that he can't move on such a short distance". Doesn't make the game impossible but just frustrating and gives you the impression that some deaths are random and not involving skill. Conclusion: if you were aiming at making the hardest platformer ever it's a fail, it's just an annoying one. 2/5
not the worst game ever but still pretty bad, the fairy lacks maneuverability and the enemies follow a pattern that is easy to learn (the hardest so far being the one on the first level lol). Also the background and the absence of a story (yep a fairy helping her bf isn't the greatest ever) gets the player bored pretty fast. You could add a bit of a storyline every 1 or 2 levels to give us a reason to continue playing or at least try and make a real background, either a static one for each level or a scrolling one that is long enough not to get boring by level 2. For now 2/5
gave it a 3/5, was able to complete both mods in less than 12min and having no confidence in my skills in these kind of games, i wouldn't call it really difficult (the only real difficulty was the parallel univers on normal that took me a while). For me these kind of games are either extremely hard and finishing each level gives satisfaction, or it's not the case and every death is only a frustration. Yet, there were some really nice effort in the creation and the normal difficulty was OK so i'm giving the game an above average mark.
very nice game ! first it was going to be some random mario rip-off but the diversity of the game took me by surprise. Although i found the game to be rather short and maybe a bit frustrating at times (getting thrown into the void by the last enemy in the first level :p ) i still give it 5/5 cause it really entertained me :)
My own reading of the game is a bit different. For me, the boy is a gost of someone cherished by the who has passed away (this idea came to when i got the yellow item because of what was near it). The gost tries to cheer the girl up but fails. He then tries to bring the girl some items, most of which come from childhood like a balloon or a teddy. By doing so, he manages to show the girl that the world is still colorful and filed with beauty. But as he continues his quest his presence also fades : on a first level, his purpose is being fulfilled so he gradually disappears but on another we always see the world from the girl's point of view and the gost is not so omnipresent anymore. Finally, as the girl turns back, she both misses the ghost of her lost one that she feels behind her for the last time but she also sees the world in all it's beauty.
thanks man, very glad you enjoyed it :) thank you for your nice comment :)
