Hey, just started playing and it would be cool if the inventory was drag & drop rather than just clicking items and slots. Not a big deal, but would be nice.
Have played multiple runs and on a couple occasions I got stuck by not having enough keys. Poor design on that front. Not sure if bug, but melee attack is non-functional for me, so I was forced to go the spell route, granted it is a much better choice anyways, a choice would have been nice.
Hey everyone, it's been a busy week with work, so I haven't updated the game yet. I'm gonna get on it and incorporate your guys' suggestions. Hopefully I'll get something up before this weekend. Keep throwing suggestions out there and I'll try to update as soon as I can.
As per the suggestions I've begun to turn the game into a sidescroller, and allow the player to shoot. Shooting damages the blocks as well, once you have reached 10 self esteem. I've also begun to implement a basic perlin noise algorithm to make the land look decent. I've got an animation for a pig. flying and walking, but that's it. Once I get all the animations in, I'll add him in as an enemy. I haven't pushed the code yet, once I get it a bit more stable, I'll do another push and tell you guys in these comments.
Hey everyone, I understand the game is very basic right now. That's actually the idea. I want you guys to suggest features, and I will implement them. Sort of like we are making a game together. Try to keep the features small, so that I can add a lot of the features that get suggested, and let's see where this game goes.
After each update, it is likely you will need to clear your browser cache. This is because the game is HTML5, and your browser may cache the files by default. So if I mention there is an update, and you aren't seeing it, try to clear your cache first. Have fun!
The game itself needs more polish, but is off to a good start. I turned down the sound in the main menu, but in game the sounds were loud again. Either the game sounds are just that much louder than the menu sounds, or you did not save the value of the volume from the main menu.
At first glance, the game doesn't seem to have much to do with Gnomes, based off the title, it's what I expected. The James Bond music is clever, maybe tie that into the style, have 'Secret Agent Gnomes' or something. Also, I expected the levels to look like front lawns, considering the Gnome theme again, yet (at least to me) the levels did not look like front lawns. Also, the tower bases are reminiscent of biohazard symbols, but I just don't see the connection.
Please take this as constructive criticism, as that is how it is meant.
Thanks for the prompt and good feedback, I will see what I can do to improve this had lot's of ideas but you sometimes get bogged down when it comes to getting them into a 3D game.
When selecting a level, it plays the 'gunshot' sound to indicate it's been selected, but then you switch scenes. You likely have your Audio Listener on your main camera, which is being deleted, since the since has been switched, there for all audio automatically cuts out. I'd think about doing like a 1.5 second fade or so, once the level has been selected. The audio cue that you already have will be enough for the player to know they clicked, so the fade won't be misleading, and in fact will add to the polish.
Fun little game. Good to see other devs making stuff in such short amounts of time. At first I didn't get the turret placement, but that's because it was placing them without me realizing it. Turns out it was working correctly, I just was holding LMB too much. Check my games out too, let me know what you think.
Hey there. The game is very short, and intended as a puzzle game. So there is some mystery as to how to solve the puzzles. The abilities are only able to be used in certain areas. Such as using 'Action' to press a button. Phase and Double Jump are unlocked and not initially available either.
Not a bad start. Audio controls would be nice, but the sound effects aren't bad, just a little too loud IMHO. Graphics are decent, interesting concept, overall an ok game.
Simple concept, easy gameplay. The game is entirely too easy to complete, once complete, there is no 'ending', just your character and an empty world. Maybe some credits? Their is minimal/no AI that I could find. It appeared that the red 'enemies' would gravitate towards me, but that could have been coincidence as well.
