I'm impressed. It's not really the best and really glosses over the finer points of each argument, but as far as a story goes and mechanics go, it works quite well, is entertaining from start to finish, and what is cut makes sense. You can't have their entire philosophical works set up or you'd render the game unplayable afterall. 5/5.

Also. The second and fourth characters you get are often better as healers, though the second can double as a front row character in a pinch. The fourth might as well be your bard, as when you get him, his only uses are a low cost heal, and singing, and he'll never really make up the gap.
The best course of action, for anyone wondering, is to try to rush to the point in the story where you get your third party member, then start levelling in that zone to make up for lost time. Her stats are slightly lower base, but she has a lower EXP cost per level than the other two party members, while not being too far behind like the ones after her. As a result, by level 15, she will have overtaken everyone in level, and the gap will only increase. Due to her being a speed/power character with lower other stats, giving her the Star Bomb AoE found in the same zone leads to her sweeping fights effortlessly in the zone you get her, and only getting more powerful from there.

Errr, I was referring to the Shockwave around him, not the double punch. The skill you unlock at level 2 was the issue, as it has almost no delay before he can act again.

Yup. Before this, he could stun at range, all the time, which is pretty scary.
Happy to help, Nerdook ^^. Was thinking of making a second run through with a different build and see if I could find anything else that seemed to be a bit too powerful for its own good.
Made the Bruiser's punch trigger with 50% chance.
Actually Nerdook, due to being able to land 4 attacks with 1 second stuns between one of the kid's attacks, it's really not that simple. The bruiser's first skill almost certainly needs an increased turn delay on it, as mixing it with the stun perk lets him pretty much put any unit into lockdown with the aid of a gunner's stun.
I'll take that into consideration and rebalance it later. Thanks!
Seems to me at Bruiser/Gunner have some absurd synergy. Tank and Ranged DPS always do, but the fact that both of them can get a 1 second stun, and some methods to spread it around leads to some hilariously long turn chains before the enemy moves once.
until some lucky kid dodges it then massacres your fat guy.

To those who complain about their team being bad, or losing games. Up until MUCH later in the game, honestly, ignore your win/loss ratio, and don't worry about your team. It's more important that your character improves and your relationships are as high as possible. Team = more chances. Boss = in more games/bigger contracts. Fans = more sponsors = more money. The position of your team means very little.
Impressive how I get downrated for saying I dislike the genre but still like the game.
Easily the genre I hate the most, and yet, still rather playable. 4/5 due to some faults with the game not telling you what you need to know (what property does for one).

A final suggestion. The game works for me, but some people have mentioned issues with running due to the need for three keys. Perhaps change it so that double tapping a direction can also make you run, and running works until the move key is released.
The lag has certainly reduced. The issue with disintegrating platforms remains, as does the slight run lag, but outside of these, the game is notably less laggy. Not perfect, but I can see a clear reduction.
After still more testing with the assistance of a friend, there is also some very minor input lag when sprinting in levels with a high density of events on screen, such as Butchery 2's central section. Even so, the input lag is much, much smaller than that on other levels, and non-existant in that level when you are not sprinting.
The game's updated, please check if you are still having issues. And sorry for any inconvenience! Thanks! =)
After some testing, the input lag is caused by the scrolling background on the forest levels. It does not show up in the butchery levels. Should the developer patch in a non-scrolling background, the lag will dissappear. Please upvote this so the developer can see.
Thanks a lot! We will try this! :)
Wasted potential in my eyes. Good level design, good (for a flash game) music, good handling of plot in a platformer. Good graphical design that looks good, and doesn't distract, undermined by input lag. Patch the input lag out, and this would be a great game, but for now, it's only worthy of a 3/5.

Very well designed puzzle game with some very minor problems. You need to be able to see your character better on the overall map screen, and valid connections should be visible on the map screen. Other than that, it's great.

Also, it is possible to escape between the first and second of the bosses attacks by doing a quick jumping slash. the additional height carries you over its long horizontal hitbox.
To beat the final boss on hard, jump him as you run towards him, circle him, and launch a standard four hit attack combo until you have enough for double slash. Once you have double slash available, use it if the fourth hit of your combo does not connect. Once you get power attack, do a THREE hit standard combo, then use power attack. This will cause it to hit multiple times. In addition, during his multiple teleport, run towards the left for about a second, then turn and run right. It's invunrable longer than its animation including the pose, so he can safely do another attack.
Boss' D attack on hard has more invun frames than it has animation frames. This means that the boss can get into the opening frames of another attack before you can hit him. The S attack on the boss seems to be able to hit a second time if it carries the boss off the edge (thus making the AI use it immediately after and send you off the edge) Good game, but the final boss on hard needs a few tweaks.

Buggy, as it occasionally captures areas ahead of me that I've yet to go to. I've missed out on bossfights due to this. Exceptionally easy. Lack of dispel turns boss fights into boring messes for both sides, as regen 2 makes the user a god. 2/5. Beating for badges, then never playing again.
