Decent basis for a good game but it only kills about a dozen of minutes (which is perfect for a break at work) but it feels like there is no purpose or challenge to the whole thing. The physics is pretty much messed up (i hit my wheels and bam, my car's platting is gone, small objects pushes me quite far whereas TNT hardly changes anything)
Maybe it would improve the whole thing if you add opponents, challenges, time trials, missions or anythins
Bad, just bad...
Glitchy: two damn' checkpoints and each time you die, you go back to the last checkpoint with the same amount of money as if you started from the beggining
Lame upgrades: saved for the dino flight, the rest was pretty much useless and the other upgrades didn't changed the gameplay at all
Lame controls: i think quite everything is said
Lame ending.
rated it 1 star. I would have given a lover rating if i could
2/5 The major problems with the rail of death games are:
- It's awefully repetitive; you go through levels over and over until you learn by trial and error the best path and until you upgraded your thing enough to jump to the other side of the cliff or sustain damages or have enough ammo
- the controls are way too awkward: no way to shoot in mid air, braking is unreliable and sometimes there is a delay between the moment you land on a plateform and when you can jump again, often ending in dying
- average graphics and it's the 3rd installment of the game
- why do you keep on posting different games based on the same gameplay with few improvements just adding a number to tell there were minor upgrades? Oh, nevermind, didn't i see the game on the appstore? okay then, it's for the money...
Sorry for my rusty english (as it's not my native language).
Great game: simple, not too long, some replay value, and really good music
Even if the plot is simple and predictable, it is really well done. One of my favourite game of this kind on kongregate
Very nice game with nice graphics and good music as well as a steady gameplay.
A few annoying bugs are still left to repair, though: if you max out a stat and pick it up again upon levelling up, you're screwed. I couldn't level up hats for some reasons, if you level up and leave the level for the map, you go back to your previous stats but not to your previous exp. and i got beat up by a giant cactus thug and it embedded me on a wall, forcing me to go back to the map
Well, by the time, I really liked Max Payne too but I don't see the point in making a literal remake of a game that is not to hard to find and not too expensive is (in my opinion) quite pointless.
The game is fine, anyway (even if it takes to headshots to kill a baddie...)
Great game, really!
Without beeing really original, the scenario does its job and the last scene can provide great sequels. The noire style is in fashion but this game really honors it.
The gameplay is a bit too classic; you collect stuff, you put things together in clever contraptions, you talk to people and... That's about all. It could need some action like quick time events, shoot phases (but just a few ones).
The art is amazing; the picture/comic graphics are awesome and suits the game to the perfection. One of the best assets of the game.
The music is good but i fell like there was only one theme in a short loop (which may be a bit boring at the long term). If sequels are to be made, they should include some more themes (like city streets, habitations, stress/action, scary or stuff like that). A real plus would be to dub dialog scenes!
To conclude: a great game with its share of tributes (the first Max Payne for instance). I'm really looking forward for sequels
4/5 just because it's short and because the small drone is by far the best one (yeak hull but it's speed and small sixe are enough to avoid pellets and the gun is awesome) and that makes the game really easy (on the last boss, a had the second purple shielded ship, i stood still while firing and killed the first form. Then a drone hit me and i took control of another drone...)
make it a bit harder, longer, with badges, missions, upgrades, whaterver and it'll be 6/5 :)
A good game (and a non-working badge) but I have a few criticism to make
Too bad there isn't more upgrades (for buildings and units because after World 3, you'll only play with the Knight, the Elf Archer, The Worker and the Tank, the other troops will only die to summon the winged thing)
Once you have the Tank, the game gets too simple (just send the tank at the end of the 3rd wave and transform it into a tower to block the boss)
I never had to use the hero altar
The catapult is slow and hard to aim, like pimpslap2 said; once you fire it, the mark will disapear (you won't be able to aim at another place and finaly keep firing the same location, waiting for the ennemies to come in the area of effect). Moreover, once the wall's down, you can't defend it (most of the good troops can't attack ennemies that are too close...)
