What to expect with this game Paying vs. Free: The game isn't really P2W except for the very top (where some have put in thousands). Paying players will get a head start, as Legendaries are very powerful at first. But both types will hit a wall, and leveling your cards is key. That takes time more than money, with rare/epic cards you can get free becoming more powerful than Legendary unless you spend tons. After 1 month playing every day, free players will end up somewhere around League 5-10, paid players probably League 3-5. Everyone will complain about the new cards each event for about 2 weeks. The meta changes frequently. Then everyone finds a way to beat the cards after about 2 weeks, which is about when they become available for free players. Get high league friends for early powerful epic cards, and level up all cards to do well in the Dark Tower. Also join a guild and use a few of the *very* powerful boosts (which will take about a week to get) to get even further.
@MorganV5: Speaking as someone who started over and put about $50 into the new player event, it's not as bad as you think. You can't really push much further by paying unless you put thousands in. The money pushed me a little faster, but it doesn't make up for just doing all the basic stuff each day for free. Some good leveled rare cards will beat the Legendaries you can pay for.
