For what it's worth sometimes the game glitches and you don't get an item you should, so if you look at the walkthrough and things still don't work refresh and start over, it's quick the second time through.
No save :/ at all, not even export. No idea when I have enough money to "retire" so not sure how close I was to done.
No real benefit to fighting pirates (that I found), you make more with no risk by just moving stuff around.
The game saves every turn and can be restored next time from the main menu. It's got permadeath so I wanted to avoid people save scrumming before entering difficult areas. I'd love to hear from more people about the risk vs reward on fighting pirates or hunting down the trade freighters as I actually toned down the experience and loot from them at the end of development as I felt that they were giving to much of a reward. Maybe that needs to be tweaked back in the other direction. Thanks for the feedback!
Was fun, hit the scarecrow for 20 minutes and maxed it all. Hit 100, called it good.
Couple of suggestions:
Counter for the little doughnuts, & have them do something (cheer you on when baking a new weapon).
Drop the x4 xp on the Scarecrow, it makes leveling too fast.
Story, even a simple one is important. "The little doughnuts are scattered & need your help"
UI tweaks:
Without some additional stat there's no need to swap rings just put on the best ones
Locks at the start need explanation, when you run into one a pop-up would work.
Health and Damage not H/D.
Tools tips would clear up a lot of confusion, a ? with a quick break down would do.
The M at the top should say Menu, or something to make it clear what it is.
Things you could do:
Skill for increased movement, active play is rough when you move that slowly (lower xp to adjust for the faster clearing)
Swap rings for doughnut themes, Glazing, Filling, Toppings
Ranged consumables, throwing doughnut holes :D
