I need to mirror a key. Gee would be nice if I could walk back to the room with the mirror and the key board. "I don't wanna go back there." ... WHY THE HELL NOT?! I don't mind having to figure out how to solve a puzzle, but when obvious solutions are blocked off like that, I get sort of frustrated.
Seriously, you introduce that mechanic of mirroring and cloning items and then the solution to the next puzzle outside the maze is that contrived fish hook thing that no one will ever come up with unless they get so frustrated that they start combining random items and trying them on random hotspots? What a shame!
Do you need a proofreader for the dialogue? The writing itself was good, but there was quite a number of errors in there that could really take you out of the experience.
A "buy related" function would be useful. When you get to the higher level combinations, buying the resources becomes really tedious. Maybe it could be handled through a menu that shows what is related to that product and lets you input a number to buy. Maybe you could even link a product to its resources and sub-resources to buy batches for every potion you add.
Also, SNAP TO GRID!!!! And maybe optional lines to show related products.
Why does the interface move? Why does the "Surrender button" have to be in the same location like the "Go" button, so that you eventually have to accidentally hit it during one of the game's inevitable monster stutters? Why is there no rhyme or reason to the damage I do and receive in battles with castles? After you have the best ship this game becomes a massive grind to capture each city and all these little things just become incredibly infuriating.
In my opinion the dodging mechanic is just plain broken. I line up an attack, I swing, the enemy closes in, I make a step in the other direction and the swing I had earlier started just goes in the other direction. So I have to chose between attacking or dodging? No way to attack while moving? Add in the ridiculous hitboxes and the fact that the visuals have nothing to do with the actual hit detection and you've got yourself a seriously un-entertaining game. A shame, really. Seemed really promising at first, but after the first few deaths it's just too frustrating for me to invest any time into it.
If practically every jump in the game requires you to do a double jump, maybe there shouldn't be a double jump. The fact that the one in this game is finicky as hell doesn't help either. It's really cool besides that, but the jumping mechanics are just frustrating. Also, how about customizable controls. A game like this can be played with one hand. None of the clone controls need to be used at the same time. SHIFT, CTRL, Q, E, Z/Y are all in range. So why not use those instead or let the player decide what buttons to use?
Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo, is there anything for me to do aside from clicking through menus? The battles seem to be completely automatic. Jeez, this is boring!
That stupid isometric view and especially the isometric controls are driving me crazy. By all means, leave the camera as it is if you need to, but let me actually go up when I press up.
The original got annoying quickly.
This one managed to take an annoying execution of a fun little time waster and packed everything in it that makes a bad game a horrible one. Essential features are behind a paywall, stuff that has been a problem of the series from the start is still unchanged or fixed only after paying for it, and people who don't want to pay any money for this garbage are constantly reminded that they should with annoying pop ups. The worst part, in my opinion: stuff pops up all the time. Menus close, new ones open, the game throws you on the globe screen and then doesn't take you back where you were. I am constantly making combinations I have made before because I open up groups I have just visited before. This is just bad. Frustrating because of bad design and because I am treated like a dumb cow waiting to be milked. 1/5
That domino game is pretty annoying. I got the pattern right, but some stones apparently were a pixel off or something similar. If they snapped into position it would be much better.
Completely unplayable after level 20. I press a button, I hear the shots after some delay and after about five seconds my character is on the other side of the map, completely surrounded by enemies.
A tip for new players. Stay away from the comments. Spoilers everywhere. The story in this game is seriously awesome, especially the branches in the end. It's pretty short, too. So don't let those guys ruin it for you. Play it, then scroll further to see just how much people like it.
Rifleman, Spy, Rocket Helicopter. That's all the units I have used to finish the game. And I'm convinced that none of the others have any redeeming qualities that would justify he hassle to take more to a mission.
