@IRA SA: You've got a note in Fleet Battles, right below "Enemy Ships Destroyed = A + XP " that says "Ships Lost = XP + C." You should get rid of that last part if that is not accurate.
I started out liking this game. And then the army that I had carefully built up (including the rare unit from the starting box) was casually wiped out on a level 2 raid.
The difficulty of opposing forces seems to vary widly. I had done a level 3 raid and handeled it nicely, so to be casually wiped out has soured the game for me.
The permanent loss of rare units seems targeted at getting players to re-pay for those units...and is distasteful.
I'm sorry to hear that. I understand that is sucks that your rare units got wiped out. However, at higher levels you'll have more variaty at the units you can build.

Am I a bad person if I just read the top comments, all of which rip mercilessly on this game, then give a 1/5 rating and go on to a game that might actually not waste my time?
If you go to the site, he's charging for the game. I wouldn't mind buying the game if it also included a SAVE button. But, if I'm paying for a game that's trying to be like (free) Angband, I'd also want races, many more classes, artifacts, a town to spend gold in, and uniques. Once this is as fun to play as my Ghost Wizard in Zangband (or, even, Steamband) then we can talk.
All of you are missig the point, and the point would be: Other bands play, MANOWAR kills! (Most of the powers are references to Manowar songs.) Death to false metal!
I'm gonna echo the previous comments. Mind you, I can see why there's no retreat button; it's not _really_ needed since most tanks retreat when injured anyway. A thing that would be welcome is some way to start a game with coins. It's a bit boring when you _know_ that you've got sw33t upgrades in the holster, but have to wait 2-3 mins every game to have access to any of them.
this is a small temporary feature of the game download. Soon the loading of the game is normalizing.
