So I've completed all the campaign and challenges, and I have to say, as much as I didn't expect it, Assassins have so much firepower and OOMPH that they become pretty much the strongest class in the game. The Jackal and AWP are probably the best 2 sniper rifles, with the AWP coming first and Jackal second. I don't really recommend buying any other sniper rifles except for these 2 as the Jackal can easily last you until you can buy the AWP because of its high rate of fire and the accuracy it has, especially with the Vital Sight skill (laser sight).
Very very good game. The AI seems pretty good so the difficulty isn't too hard (except for missions 14 and 15 of the campaign) but isn't too easy either. The Assassin with a sniper rifle and Vital Sight (laser sight) skill seems to make the game much easier than with any other class due to the fact that the vision increase aspect of sniper rifle means that enemies in the extra 50% vision you get can be shot at and sniped, but they will not be able to fight back at you as their range seems to be stuck on the default vision range (without the extra 50% vision increase from sniper rifles). However, this is the only way that I managed to complete campaign mission 14 so I'm not really complaining... 4/5 as the game itself is good but the difficulties are too sporadic.
I love the upgrade system in this game - the upgrades were really well thought out and the weapons gradually got much better than the ones before which I found nice as I thought (as many would) that I wouldn't not be able to escape, being stuck at 400m+ away from escaping buy the upgrade system made it so that as long as you got to the better weapons you WOULD get to the end. I got to the end on truck 12/13 I believe with the Combat Shotgun which is probably the best weapon as it has a very wide range for hitting ammo balloon which are very important, could wipe out most debris and has quite a bit of ammo, but you definitely need the ammo upgrades for it. Also, save your spikes for the steel box barricade-things.
I rated this originally as a 4 due to the NRG prices, but when I recieved 2 messages regarding updates to this game within a few days, I knew that it was worth 5 stars - very cool game maker who responds to possible improvements - keep it up!
Hm, I spent all of that time to get the 2nd overall high score with round 107, some dude got 121, mine gets removed and theirs is still up there... *sigh* Well all that time was wasted.
I lost the first season with 2 losses at the end, but with the unique knight, I just charged through season 2 and won in that season. One thing I'd like to know though is where is the unique cleric? I didn't manage to find him/her...
I am incredibly impressed by this game, it isn't all about 'OMG, spam this 1 unit and skill and win!', especially at the later levels, I found myself neglecting the 'Quake' spell for example, but as I progressed further in to the game, I found that Quake was actually an incredibly useful skill to have, use and upgrade. Also, the order in which you send out your troops is also very important and can mean the different between a gold medal and 10 raids away from the gold medal. A definite 5/5 from me!
