Why can't I scroll the screen in pause? Also, why is the targeting action so unresponsive? I liked it, but not enough depth of gameplay (guns of a specific type are all the same with more damage) and the pause limitations were very irritating.
Very good game. I'm not sure that the "insane speed" comments are indicative of the game, as it feels "fast enough" for me. I never felt like I didn't have enough time to dodge something and literally all of my deaths are either deliberate or due to greed. Still, great game. Lots of fun.
Lots of problems with this game.
1: No invulnerability on supers or ultras, despite the ability to do them as reversals (referring specifically to Inglor's FAB but I was noticing I could hit people out of their ultras too).
3: No hitstop! What the heck? This is a 2D fighter with super moves and projectiles and crossups but there is no hitstop. It makes combos harder for no reason and generally reduces the "fun" of the game.
3: No buffering?! I set the computer to do an ultra, and tried to ultra through hers (ofcourse you can't, but I could at least try?) but I managed to actually get my superflash to come out about 0 out of 20 times despite being able to do it easily in SF4 and other games.
It would also be nice if money I earned on one class was global, instead of having to grind cash again when I have 95 billion extra dollars on another class
I think it's sort of silly that enemies are consistently better geared than you, despite you being in the same city. I understand that enemies should be challenging, but in the first city there are enemies with 200+ arm armor, yet I can't get better than 190 even in the third city? How does that make sense?
Final boss is kinda easy. I beat it without unlocking the final upgrade tier, I think it took me like 5 or 6 plays to beat the game. Boss 2 is much harder than boss 1 because his expanding shield "feels" random. I'd probably slightly reduce the rotation speed of the bubbles to make the gaps more visible, or make the final boss significantly harder.
Very interesting game. It starts off sort of lame, but once you get going it becomes a really interesting test of optimization. I think that the people that think this is boring aren't really trying to get the most out of every bit of patience and stress.
Mediocre game. It's not bad, but it's definitely not good. The weapons are mostly boring upgrade-fests rather than actually being different, and there are a few weapons (mostly end-level weapons) that are dramatically different in power and if you don't want to die a lot to replay stuff you just have to know what to save for. The yellow flying enemies are dumb and the bosses just spam shots at you that are impossible to dodge, making the optimal strategy simply to run out of range and spray and pray offscreen. It is a good first effort and I hope you learn a lot from making this game, but it has a lot of glaring flaws.
SAA has huge range, is invulnerable, and hits on the first frame of activation. Oh, and it has meaty frames throughout almost all of its animation time, so even if you whiff it, enemies can run into it and get hit. You can beat the entire game with just SAA.
Didn't like the music. Excellent game even if there is an optimal strategy that works on every level - once you get the critical sword upgrade and the curse blocks, most of the rest of the game is pretty clockwork.
Not a bad game, but it's all slow and clunky. Much less exciting than a 2d isometric zelda clone could be, and wrestling with the interface is annoying. Would be 5/5 if it wasn't sluggish and things were easier to use.
Not a bad game, but I don't feel particularly engaged playing it. The battles don't "feel" right; there's no animation so I don't really feel like my character is alive. There's also not enough fun stuff (like skills/spells and such) at the early game.
Spoiler free: The bad ending is just the good ending, without the thing you activate by hitting all the switches. You can extrapolate pretty easily what happens without getting the bad ending, but if it's not obvious, you die. + if you found this helpful!
Wow, the unlimited gold level is ridiculous. The enemies can dps through four high priests at once, even if you have 4 high priests and 6 captains to tank. Maybe you have to have a particular perk setup? I have no idea. It's terrible game design.
This game has some unusual social commentary, such as: 1) It's really important to find a good, reliable guy when you're young. 2) It's possible, and easier, to live a happy life without dating, but it won't ever be as satisfying as a long relationship. 3) Sometimes you get into a long relationship, and someone better comes along, but leaving your current relationship is too hard, so you have to stick with it. 4) Death can come at any time. 5) All men cheat, and you have to keep them away from other women in order to make sure that they won't have the opportunity.
