How is this game keeping its chatroom? Nobody still plays it, yet other incrementals with like 200-300 people will get their chatrooms deleted. Good job, Kongregate. I'm proud of you. :)
1. It is supposed that you do all the content for getting the most fun from the game. Also, those boots are totally optional. 2. It's a known bug but low importance, hence it won't get fixed probably. 3. Yes, you need deluxe mode in order to enter NG+ mode. 4. Dfficulty multiplier ain't exactly that. Percentange shown is Damage multiplier for all foes, and HP is adjusted differently. That is why you don't see that consistency.
A tip for everyone: Read carefully what each equipment does, it is extremely important to fit to a single character more of a kind, like status boosting for status dealer (Anna's great for this role) or Buff/Debuff boost (for maximum combat efficiency and helps on making defensive buffs more fundamental). But most importantly: Read what the NPCs in Hope Harbor say, especially regarding capturing, and the library for many good informations that help understanding the game mechanics better.
Also, for who couldn't catch a strong foe: Defensive Debuffs are important, especially Evade. Apply negative statuses on top of it and it should be a cakewalk. Capture boost equipment and Good Luck on wearer can also help.
Something like 500 hours and still increasing on Steam, on 2 different playthrough and many different testings on many bosses, aswell as simply listening to the awesome soundtrack, and now this is here. Just a 5/5 + ahuge thank you to Matt for this great series, most probably my fav one.
+1 for the Discord server. I would love supporting the game a lot, because constant dev + chill and good game overall = 5/5 ;) That's the only thing that's missing currently
I also kind of wish this game had chatrooms. They would be extremely nice. Anyway, great update ^^ But I kind of wish I could have some info in-game regarding Layer 2 perks, when they are unlocked, and what they do to Layer 1. It's kind of....uh, mystery. Also would be nice to check when I get next stat point or hero.
Extremely slow, also feels a tad unbalanced. HP and Heal are bad, former because Armor exists and latter because it's a slower strat, also with not great AI that's not gonna help. Better DPS wins while having a full Armor Warrior that tanks everything, until he gets oneshot at later floors. Nothing to do there really, except waiting until you reach level 100 everytime because of the prestige point. Enemy scaling is also very harsh, every one is basically a huge wall and no other way to gain extra Stat points makes the game even slower. It has good potential, I'm curious about the development of this game actually ^^ (Faster clear speed for earlier floors wouldn't hurt too)
Feels kind of repetitive overall though, the keys addition is nice but it's the only innovation that I felt over the whole game. Also please, a level counter. Not knowing which level I'm doing feels bad, also if I need to.
I'd be happy to see more games and improvements of this one to you, definitely big potential from there :)
To be honest, that kind of game that is fully functional and all developed by a 15yo guy is kind of impressive, really. I understand that it's your first game and all, but sure there could be some improvements to it. Coins are there because you're a Super Mario fan right? sadly these don't serve any purpose :( Wish I could get them and buy some skin cosmetics or access to extra levels perhaps. On Level 12 (I think?), and few other places I forgot, there are some invisible blocks that have to be jumped. The Fire Rain...eh. Kind of meh overall. It is either irrilevant (especially if it spawns inside a giant block and crushes at the end of it, making me immune to it while I'm under that) or unfair (occasionally I lost because one spawned right where I had to land with an accurate jump). (1/2)
Dude...the Skillpoints > Souls exchange is so broken. I can simply die, prestige, spend all skillpoints into Souls, and prestige again over and over until forge is maxed...this is not good.
Suggestion: Auto-convert Skill point > Mastery point once you have maxed the skilltree. Additionally, automatically fullfill skilltree at the start of each prestige if amount of skill points required to do that is enough.
Thank you so much for you feedbacks. It's really help me to improve the game.
I recalculated boss damages, it will be more reasonable on next update. I'm aware of defense system won't help you to progress further at the moment. I have some ideas about how to improve it. This is also include rework of masteries.
About prestige system, I'm thinking about new calculation that has thresholds, higher levels will give more points.
I already finished new content, quests and blessings. Also I have new monsters(yes there are ranged ones) to add to the game. All of them ready to launch after I finished the cloud saving.
-Experience: I'm really concerned about that fact that overflow EXP upon level up gets lost. This makes any EXP% bonus to lose potential value.
-Long runs issue: Currently, prestige system is based off a linear system, which leads to long runs useless. From level 3 to whatever I can reach before dying, I always get a level up with 5 kills. What's the point of going over? I could simply prestige at level 30 several times instead of proceeding towards 40 or 50, because it's the same. What if Prestige could get an additional exponential factor(very small) that could give to higher levels more value?
Personally, this is an idle that has pretty good potential, but has some flaws that aren't healthy for the game:
-Defence system: Enemies deal a lot of damage, with bosses being able to oneshot me, and none of the defence sources actually make my life a bit better .It also has the issue of having all enemies attacking with melee hits, which means you need more defence, but they can only reach you only if you don't kill them fast, which means you need more damage, meaning defence always gets useless. I think having ranged attack enemies could change things a lot, or, if possible, make it so only one melee enemy can attack you at a time.
-Poison: Just by doing math I have never found Poison better than the other damage sources. Just look at Mastery. 1% damage vs 0.4% poison chance. The former is a straight 1% improve, the latter is 0.4% chance to apply a 40% damage taken increase debuff to enemy, with an average DPS increase of 0.16%. (1)
Bug: If I have exactly 1 Aspect Point, it doesn't let me spend this. I have to wait to get 1.2 AP to be able to level up an Aspect skill. http://prntscr.com/lya1k7
Why does this game still exist? It should be closed, yet it still appears in front page in the "MMO" category in the 5th spot, so people could get trapped into this shit. This is a case where I wish negative stars rating was a thing.
play the updated version of it.
