if you have trouble start a new game and get some decent equipment through the first shop full body armour and some wepons and then do the same for 2 other slaves. i did this and then i went to multiplayer and accumulated about 500k + in gold all my characters are level 37-38 and have the best Armour and Wepons availiable from Rome. i haven't made it to olympus yet but i'm not far from it.
