I agree with moutchar. Yes, P2W in the top ranks is still an annoying part of the game. However, it is still fair and activity allows for at least some competitiveness. (ATM, it suffices for about rank 30) Seems 2 me the flamers of the energy system did not play the game for a longer proportion of time: The only costly part is the Maze/Exploration grind , not the actual progress . And, about 200 energy/day, with daily bonusses and friend list, translating into 100 actions, can last for a long time. The cooldowns are actually slightly more annoying, and later on, most activities do not even cost energy: 15 Ranked battles, 30+ Dungeon battles, a couple of Mining battles , future Clan Wars, etc. The nice part is: most parts can be played on auto, taking only a couple of seconds. Or, you can improve your deck by watching your matches. - One major complaint, already mentioned by others: The lack of a surrender button in story fights, what really really hurts: - Please, fix this!
This game has huge strategic depth: I am currently on my 2nd walkthrough, and am still wondering what i am actually doing: SO friggin many options . One of the best ADnD board game adaptions ever!
A little announcement: The epic card "Hetzer" is notoriously bugged in PvP atm, leading to game crashes for your opponents. So, if you want to team up with the good guys, and not abuse its intrinsic buggyness, which kills the game for meagre gold and rating, PLEASE do not use it in PvP until the issue is solved. I own 2 of them myself, and they are eager to be played - AFTER the hopeful fix. Thanks for upvoting, that ppl can see ;)
*UPDATE*: The issue with the Hetzer is now fixed. Please let us know in the forums if something strange happens again!
Hey Badbentham, thanks for the information, we are currently putting our resources on fixing the Hetzer issue, so we expect to fix it by the end of today, will make sure to let you all know once we have fixed the issue!
I will never understand why ppl sink hundreds of bucks into a game. After all, a game lives from the efforts you make by yourself, and the achievements you gain from it. - Yes, you want to win. But: You want to deserve it, somehow. Opening the purse is, tbh, quite the opposite. Actually, it is pretty similar to botting in some way. Also, the success does not come from the game and own skills, but from sth. out of the game. If ppl would change their behavior and minds, the devs of games like this one would be forced to come up with some real content. - And, yes: Making 80% of the units cash-only is REALLY bad design, and gives P2W, aka "playtopay", a new dimension.
At Chaosticket: I can agree with most of your points; basically Synapticon has gone way too far with their "PaytoWin"-philosophy, ever since the late days of the original Tyrant, and matters have become worst here. - However, you CAN manually place your units, by drag-and-drop. ;)
Regarding any complaints about the starting position of the heroes: After the first turn it always fizzles out. And, it is a slight incentive to get/use either fishing rod (which is strong anyway), or equipment (increases walkspeed, move twice per turn, etc.) . - Overall, the game is alot of fun!
This game is not half as bad as it can be made, by saying that the battles are auto, and taking out the strategy. In fact, it is still quite a bit of fun to slowly improve the decks, discover synergies, progressing, etc. However, what quite destroys it is the P2W part, where profile-neurotic morons, who assess "winning" as higher as "playing" , spend tons of bucks (thousands) on it , to reach their personal goal, - which basically speaking achieves mainly to kill the fun for the rest of the players. - So, business as usual.
Dear ZellMurasame, you are funny. ;) - What I meant was: Most parts of the interface freezes- including of course that big Back button (that you cannot miss after a couple of minutes of game play) . ;)
WOW! I am amazed how after years the whole interface is still totally bugged. Starting with Tutorial Missions ( Failure 1009, anyone) , over the shopping screen (no way to get out of there) . Simply cute!
As far as I can see, the best TCG with PvP focus around! Fast paced battles which offer still a high tactical challenge. No useless grinding (only real action!), no energy bar. Premium currency can still be gained through activity (P2W component: Yes, still, - but far less than in more popular titles) . -So, as far as I am concerned, and can overlook it (at lvl 10): A clear recommendation, for a hidden gem, forgotten by Kong`s promo policy , - so: 5/5.
the artifact drop rate is just a very sad joke: I grinded one mission for one single missing artifact for now 50 times; - energy price: 50 each. (You get it: Half of the last week...) NO artifact. Add to this: Only about every 10th reinforcement is actually worth at least anything, -and is NOT total garbage.
It would for sure be nice if one could see the basic stats of the units, like hitpoints, base attack, etc. Also, it is at times rather difficult to distinguish the different enemy units on the battlefield, leading to educated guessing games. ;)
