why are there so many levels of upgrades when it takes 2.2 seconds to finish the final mission? Are there more upgrades coming?

Step 1: Always sword. Step 2: Never dash. Always sword. Step 3: Raise special so you can sword more. Step 4: Maybe crossbow? STep 5: keep swording

So guys, 1 to 7 should either be 'most to least' or 'least to most', and repeatedly switching the scales in the hopes you'll get the answers clearly matching your hypothesis is academically unethical at best?
