why this control scheme? hords of enemies and no ability to shoot walking backwards (unless i miss something). WASD and mouse control would be enjoyable, this.. not so much.
first level with speed towers. we tried to get past it for about 8 hours. we got up to a perfect stretch including the airboss from left. at that point 3 maxed phasers and 2 dmg adds holding the high middle, 1 AA lower right, 1 AA right/up at base, one left loop with range and speed. no other setup really worked that far and since then, nothing else made any difference in getting crushed 1-2 waves later. we tried massing foundationless towers, maxing few towers, build little booster pockets , booster with and without foundations, nothing really made a difference since those waves are so fast that my 3 maxed phasers with range, speed and damage support cant kill a single enemy before it gets out of range again - means crashing into my base. any hints on that? -------- hardest Flash/mini/TD etc game so far. 4/5
All in all a really good game and right up my alley.
but with one problem.
the car is too frigging wide.
ive driven plenty wide cars and this "mustang" feels wider as a bus.
i know if a gap is wide enough to let me trough, even if its just by half an inch on both mirrors.
in this game even if it looks and feels like you can fit trough easily with room to spare, your right side will most likely get caught on the car 5 feet away which will send you flying through the rest of traffic like in a pinball machine.
and thats a huge problem.
i like it and agree to positive posts with a big but;
why the screenshaking? with every shot? why not optional?
that alone ruined it for me.
no rating for now.
great game but i got a terrible headache from using the heavy cannon. the constant screen shaking with every bullets is jsut plain annoying and not needed.
its good until you push the AI back to its castle with a full army, then suddenly its respawn timer seems to go down to 1 second per unit and just drowns you in units. like in some racing games if your ahead too far the AI cars suddenly go 600 Mp/h and accelerate 0-200 in under a second. no fun.
trouble is, its a no refund blind auction. wether win or loose, cash is gone. over time you can still get some uridum items, but unless you keep this up for a couple weeks and play downtime hours (for trade/safety) you wont get a good getup. and after you sticked long enough with it, you have all the uridum stuff for credits except the goliath ship. enter battle and die in under 5 seconds no matter what. IF you spend the cash on it, you will be excatly as strong as everybody else. i stopped at the "hord credits for ingame las vegas". not worth it.
getting money is no problem, get some teribiumish (3rd ressource), up your skylab, get refineries and devliever prot and duri to your ship, its 20k per 100ton cargospace. keep uping the skylab, do quests and collect boxes in the meantime. a couple hours and you can up your gear with semprom, fly a nosrtomo or a bigboy fully armed with 2 sets of generators (shield/speed) and a couple drones with guns. and once you have all that, thats as far as you go unless you start spending uriduim (cash). you CAN get uridum stuff with credits via trade,
@11sert11 well sure, you CAN get the boxes. if you do a dozend start quests you can even get the startership, get a cloak and sollect boxes in X-2 and X-3 and make loads more then in X-1. issue still remains that a single enemy company ship crusies in X-1, killing all the <100$ players, even hunts the big spenders but doesnt get attacked by any of them. 90% of those still kill streuners and collect boxes even under fire, if they get hurt to much, return to base, rep and go collecting again, no matter the thread. if you have 100+ players MOVING in the sector and only 1-2 actually fights intruders... well, the suspicion is pretty clear.
at least in my time X-2 half of the players and X-3 and up most of the players actually do something.
orcs done. main army killing composition: 4 harpy, 5 demons, 3 orcs. strong fort cracking 8 orcs, 4 harpy. still stuck with lvl 16 dwarfs and lvl 9 human .
also, there are tons of bot farmers around, especially in the X-1 maps and mostly cloaked.
so unless you go into the X-2 and X-3 maps, you cant even boost yourself with bonus boxes.
this games fails on its dependency on uridum which you only really get in an usable amount by buying it for cash, that there is no chance to survive or outrun a PK, and the issue that 90 out of 100 ships in X-1 arent actively played - they continusly kill streuners and collect bonus boxes whitout ever careing about the enemy PC's shooting them or their allies.
1/5 for the basic concept of the game
0/5 for the economy system
0/5 for balancing players vs payers.
it looked quite enjoyable at start.
i get 200k every hour from my skylab, but in terms of firepower and survivability, there really is no point in playing at all unless your willing to spend quite a hump of real live money on uridum to get the biggest ships and best tech.
the degree to which you can upgrade with only creds and the little uridium you can find/farm is pretty limited unless you spend millions of creds in the trade section and have tons of luck.
trouble with that is, you bid and even if you dont win the bid, the cash is gone. basicly, grind and farm for a couple days to get a SLIM chance to eventually catch up to the uridum buyers in a few hundret hours of gameplay.
due to the speed at which high players (big spenders) can kill you and how much punishment they can take AND last but not least cant be outrun, going anywhere then a screen from the base is highly dangerous.
