@AnzuKadotani, @matthewgraves001: game stopped loading for me as well in Firefox, still works in Chrome (log into your Kong account first). But I hope it can be fixed for Firefox again soon, game seems to run slower in Chrome.
My treasure chest spin landed on 50 Universe Marbles, but I don't see them added to the count in the main screen, do I need to do something to collect them?
Great little game, and as for the dash being somewhat unclear, the main problem with that was that the only jump you really need a dash for (the top-right herbs) can almost be made with a normal jump, so for a while I thought I was just miss-timing (I also failed to read the tutorial thoroughly). If you would put in a big gap that can clearly only be crossed by jump-dashing right after the tutorial I think it would prevent a lot of confusion.
@KD40 strength training is definitely the hardest. Ive gotten high combos mostly through sheer luck. Some tips: ignore the stars at higher combos - you can cleave 2 apples with 1 hit if they're close together - when it starts getting crazy fast, start spamming the directions they are coming from as fast as you can, that allowed me to get a 100+ combo on one very lucky run
So the August event is kind of weird for me, I was lvl18 when the vortex patch came out, I jumped in, and managed to get to Galaxy 4, personal 8 in 1,5 months. Now With the august event, I used my old exported code to instantly get Galaxy 4 and personal 18. So the last 1,5 months were useless...
@econrad I've got frenzy but I can't remember when I got it, it says: "click a button 8 times in 1 second". I still need a bunch can you help? 'Play it safe', 'Missing in action', '1+1=10', 'Segregation', 'Multiethnic', and 'Rich' (I guess for that last one I just need a lot of stuff).
If you're going for a defensive build late game (forging elemental res on items), it's good to know that there is a maximum for each stat. Because no enemy hits harder than these values, going over them is completely useless:
Fire: 30
Ice: 50
Earth: 30
Wind: 40 (this is very hard to get)
Dark: 35
Light: 40
Defense: 330
If you can't beat lvl26: you pretty much need everyone fully leveled, even Rei and Ken's super armor are pretty much needed here. Use taunt, heal and shield on every cooldown (taunt for the armor). Lee will die, but Ken and Rei should be able to finish him.
I finally finished the axis campaign. The last mission on hard without support needed some trial and error. I used Helga and the Ubersoldat, fully upgraded. I would start with building Helga, with auto-move unchecked, and the waypoint just below the enemy spawnpoint in the lower left. This way Helga can kill the spawnpoint before the hero spawns, and you only have to deal with one of them. As soon as Helga spawns, check auto-move, move the waypoint back to the start, collect coins, and build a ubersoldat as soon as you can. Then just keep spamming ubersoldats, you'll soon have more than enough money. You need some luck with the enemy spawns at the start, too many robots and you might die no matter what. The key thing is to keep Helga alive, she has great dps, and takes long to respawn, if she dies you'll notice you'll get pushed back quick. To keep her alive, select her and move her back when she gets ahead of the pack, then press the 'forward' button to get her into the fight again.
This game is one the best flash games out there imo, so I'll try to give some criticism to make it even better! 1. More info on some of the game mechanics would be nice: what are the unexplained gems like the purple gems in the forest, what is the difference between the shield icon stat and the defense stat on items, do poison (and other same) gems stack in the same tower? 2. I might be missing it somewhere, but a indicator of the amount of monsters left would be great. I try to save my chests until the end to get better loot, but I can't tell when the end is.
Great concept, I think I found a few solutions that weren't 'intended', makes you feel smart :) For example in lvl27, it looked like I was gonna have to do something very complex with all the moving platforms, but I simply walked all the way to the right, connected the leftmost thingy in the room to the right to the rightmost thingy in the room I was in. Then I simply connected two more thingies to completely get rid of the wall and walked to the end.
If the last boss seems impossible, here is a way of beating him, it is kind of cheap though so only read if you don't mind that. He has 4 attacks: Ill call em bullet spray, rain, mesh and rockets. There is a place where you are safe for 3 out of 4 attacks: the upper right corner, make sure you are all the way to the right, and as close to the boss as possible before taking damage from him, every pixel is important here! Rain and spray will not hit you at all, mesh will take off about 1/2 your health at the end, but you can regen that back. For the rockets, go to either side of the screen about halfway up, let the rockets get as close as possible, then swoop to the other side via the bottom of the screen, making a U-shape, and repeat. You will will still need alot of defensive upgrades to make it, but it is fairly easy.
Finally beat it, wasnt easy, I love a challenge though. And seeing I got the top score rightaway must mean not many people have managed to complete it so far :)
Some comments:
The wepons could need some polishing, I especially think the level3 weapons are too weak: the laser still takes 2 shots to kill a normal zombie, it is hardly an upgrade from the other piercing guns (if at all). Rocket launcher is slower and seems to do less damage than the lvl2 shotgun, I preferred to stay at lvl2 which seems weird. And the lvl3 machine does great damage, but runs out of ammo way too quick. Anthony's special drops all the survivors, its not a big deal , but seemed odd. Biggest annoyance was getting stuck near small corridors, I had to wiggle for a while at some places to get through, while survivors were dying :(. The bosses were a bit on the easy side, they all died in less than 10secs with the heavy machinegun, was a bit of an anti climax. Other than those small things, great game!
Ran into a pretty big bug :(. Twice now in the second to last level on hard, there has been an invincible white skeleton in on of the later (last?) waves. After Ive killed everything else in that wave, he remains, and all my shots go right through him, mines and rage attack dont work either. Hoped it was a one-time bug, but seems it is not, can't be bothered to try again now.
To add a bit of challenge, I tried to finish it as fast as possible. In the end I was able to win the game after day 10 (so with 11 days remaining on the victory screen). This made it quite a bit harder and more fun, but still very doable once you know what to buy and especially what NOT to buy (tip: read what is said when you buy buildings).
Loved the graphics, the voice acting and the difficulty. The upgrades werent all as awesome though, I never used more than 3-4 bullets in one ride so the upgrades werent that useful, maybe make the higher upgrades do less dmg to the glass? And perception was of no real use to me either, there was too much going on to pay attention to it for me. maybe if it was just the bombers and the uberzombies displayed in a very obvious way I couldve used it better.
Finally beat the Giant ape (lvl16 on epic) in kind of a cheesy way, but only way I found that is easy and works. What you need: max timestop, max mana (I think), Diablos (with upgrades is better) + as many other melee units as you can get (Valkyries and mighty guardians are great), Pixies can be nice for some healing as well. Have your units move to about halfway through the map when they spawn. As soon as big ape guy spawns, cast timestop and assault, timestop again when its at 3sec, this should give some of your units the chance to get under the ape, and he will miss then with his swings. Now just keep using timestop whenever its up to get more units under the ape (and at the castle). Try to time a timestop-cast to make sure your Diablos gets under the ape, hes great for dealing with the adds.
Anyone found a way to get the last score achievement (Im assuming it is 60k points)? Ive got expert on level 40, which is 59700, but for 60k Id need to send each wave at around 190 points, which seems impossible. Also, what changed in 1.08?
