... Make it clearer in the game description that the goal of the game is to produce a picnic, which requires five of each food item produced by cogs -- otherwise people will assume the game's goal is to make a profit, and assume that they should sell the cheese, pies, omelettes, etc. Instead of growing worms and feeding them to a fish to produce sushi, players should instead grow rice, which is fed to a fish pond to produce fish. Have a cog which converts fish to sushi. This would make sushi more like the other items needed to assemble a picnic basket. Offer a cog or upgrade which causes a plants harvest season to be longer, so that all plants produce some percentage more. Make it very expensive, so that it's only worthwhile somewhere after halfway through the game.

... Alternatively, a purchasable cog or upgrade with the following effect: If the plant is being harvested, and the bin is full, then the plant is "frozen" in a block of ice in the field, for a period of time. If you sell the contents of the bin, and then click on the plant, it will unfreeze and continue harvesting as normal. A purchasable cog or upgrade which causes plants which have finished growing to begin harvesting immediately. A purchasable cog or upgrade which causes newly planted seeds to get one click worth of water, however much or little that might be. Some sort of higher profit plant seed to make the end of the game go faster.

[continued, due to stupid 1k letter limit] Some sort of unhappy sound effect when the storage bin for plant being harvested is full, and the plant is being wasted. A purchasable cog or upgrade which causes excess produce to be automatically sold when the bin is full and that plant is harvested. It would be fine by me if the money gotten from the auto-sale is only some percentage of the normal value for the plant; something is better than nothing.

Some suggestions: When throwing something away, you should get back some percentage of the money you spent on it. Planted but unwatered seeds should be refundable -- the worms are expensive, and have no use until near the end of the game, but are easy to plant by accident since they're right next to the radish.
