I am having an issue where sometimes recruits do not auto-start quests I have tried firing and re-hiring them and nothing seems to work. Right now I'm having the issues on the Hunting Undeads and Hunting Dragons quests every time, but sometimes it happens on others.
I'm having problems with activating the 3x bonus lately. It says I have 12 hours left, but I am not able to activate it. At the same time, my Break time left is not going down. Any ideas?
As a fan of the original, I'm going to leave some constructive criticism.
1) We need more digits of accuracy in the production rate. At least 3 significant digits, please? (like the original)
2) We need standard units across all workers. I'm constantly doing mental math converting between seconds/minutes.
3) There is no current way to tell upgrade effects. How much does a particular enchant add? Also, we really need a global MPS.
4) The blacksmith is extremely underpowered. In the original, blacksmith critical would produce more items. Now, it's just another way of increasing value. This means that in the later game, your blacksmith is the main thing you are short on.
5) The menu system is still very difficult to use. The nice thing about the original was that everything was on the same screen, so you could easily compare production rates of each worker. The current game requires a ton more clicking to find what you want.
6) Ascension is still extremely underpowered after the update.
BTW, Momoguru, the 40-system game is great! As my third playthrough, been going through one system at a time, getting some awesome rare items. Nice thing is the enemies don't get too hard too fast, like in the 10-system game. IMO the 40-system game is actually more balanced in terms of combat, as you have time to get better gear before facing the toughest enemies.
One comment about the 40-system game though - there's way too much money! I have over $1M at system 25 and I haven't mined asteroids since I got my carrier back on system 10. You should probably either decrease the awards for killing bosses (last one got me over 50K), or else increase the costs of items. Money does seem quite easy to acquire at this point. The only thing preventing me from getting the best items is I made them really rare.
Would it be possible to enable the use of afterburners even if your target is within range? Sometime I just want to "get the hell out of there". Other times I'm doing strafing runs, and it would be great to be able to do quick passes of my targets, unload weapons, and then let them reload before returning back to unload weapons again.
I have to agree with KolekaX. A big part of the enjoyment of this type of game is putting in the work for your better ship/outfits/etc. If you can just idle for a couple hours, come back, and now be able to buy all the best gear, that kind of ruins the point of the game. When I can finally buy that top-tier ship, I want to feel awesome due to the work it took. I'd actually like to suggest the costs for the end-game ship/outfits be further increased, as I think they're a little too easy to get right now. That and trading is still quite easy. Perhaps make trading more dangerous? Running profitable trading routes is fun, but it should carry risk of death!
Fantastic game! Reminds me the Ambrosia Software's Mac classic Escape Velocity (from like 20 years ago). That and Freelancer.
I really appreciate your frequent updates - been playing all week. One comment: I like the sorted lists now, but notice sometimes the closest target ends up on the end of the list. Think you could look into it?
