not sure what's up with this game, but for me, it was crazy laggy, and bugged. after it froze up in the second room, I tried reloading the game, and after starting over and then spamming z to get through the opening dialog, I got stuck on the buy sleeping on floor, and the phone ringing.
funny... after finishing the game, I started over. Early on in the tutorial, my base was under attack. By the time I got to the part of the tutorial where my minions could defend against the attackers, there were dozens of attackers. I think the game forgot to scale the attacks back down to starter levels. On the bright side, my 3 tutorial minions were indestructible, and would win the fight eventually. (not going to wait for that, though. :}
There is not really an end to this game, as far as I can tell, but it can be "finished" by most measures within about a year (maxed island trophies). From there, you can finish the collection of prestige items, if you haven't; and within 2 years, max the workshop; but I don't think there's a max to the facilities, or Agent levels. (or tv station levels, for that matter, but they become obviously unreachable at a certain point).
Finally got Train wreck -- the key is holding the hold notes until you have to play the next hold note (since they're no penalty for that), instead of trying to let go around the right time, at risk of being marked off as "too early". Barring that, I think speedfreak gave me the most trouble. I felt like I had to rush - especially the bridge - for it to be marked as perfect.
Just joined and closed a city with one paladin of mine, and one of an opponent. She got 2000 points and it suddenly said she had 8 meeples to place. My paladin was still stuck in the completed city, and only earned me 50 points at the end of the game. wha?
Controls: Hints/instructions would be helpful (I've seen in the comments here that R = Rotate) ... scroll wheel on your mouse can zoom in and out. Might be nice to add +/- keys for zooming for people without scroll wheels. (Granted, I realize this game is from 2012 and likely isn't getting updates)
@DokiNabi - I agree the last song is not the hardest. For me, I could get all of them except Train wreck -- I can get it with 0 errors, but I could swear it's not recording all the hits.
I don't get why @Cogitation got so many down votes - I agree with 90%. The obscurity of the "winning" parameter *is* annoying. Half of the upgrades are detrimental to winning - why offer extra hearts & regeneration if the primary winning condition is a perfect run(up to the fire pits)? Ironically, the one thing I disagree with is his interpretation of the premise of the game. I viewed it as the visualization of any/all children's nightmares - the kind that keeps coming back, and feels like it's chasing/haunting you. But we, playing the part of the little girl in this story, must overcome our childish fears, and realize it's just a dream - and in the end, turn our nightmare into a peaceful dream.. Tho sadly you must then die to win. I disagree that the flawed winning conditions warrant 1/5 stars. - although I would take off 1-2. Perhaps I'm bitter that it took me 4 years between the 2 medium badges, before I noticed the comments, and missing medal. :P
ssnak3 - you can get 100% on 19. (I even did it twice to make sure it wasn't a complete fluke). I only got 99% on n5, though. I'd like to see 50% on level 20, though. :}
BlackSuzaku - level 20 can be simpler than that. If you only click on the middle of the top and bottom pink boxes, you can pass through between the side walls (clicking away from the boxes to turn), and then across the top, and down, turn right between the 2 (only) blue boxes, up between the pink boxes again, left across the top, and down for the key.
@Eppie_spacely I also thought it was non-obvious at first, but you're controlling a ball on the boat, not the boat itself. You need to jump (up) out of the boat. Once the ball is in the water, it's more obvious
