Protection says it emits deadly force and take no damage on first hit. I got hit and instantly died?
No damage on the first hit is for lvl 2 of that upgrade. If you did have lvl 2 when this happened, please report it as a bug

Pretty disappointed at the difference in hardness between the mobs and bosses, considering half the time it was impossible to damage the bosses without getting hit yourself.

I like getting to play a game from its early beginnings. It is great to see how a game can evolve and become better over time.
