Seems the most ridiculous route is to go max intell, try and get 2-3 waters asap. Starting items to already be 2x water items with decent intel. Spam whirlwind all the way through using the top row. There's 1 ice section which your other stats should deal with, rest should be easy. Best i can do in 2 and a half minutes but i haven't grinded it too hard. This also allows you to be on the leaderboard for highest number of stats, as 4k is easy to beat seeing you can spam the +1 strength skill over and over i went 2,2k and got bored. I can see how this got completed in under 90 seconds using this method. Some of the lower all time scores i'm more suspicious about. Great little game and i enjoyed messing with it for 2 hours. My favorite part is the item system. Hope you do some other games with some other system like it. Finally, lovely to see the devs responding to all the comments.
Thanks for the breakdown! That's very similar to my approach as well in terms of taking the top route w a max Int build. Definitely agree that ~90 secs is possible, I saw a recent score around that and they took the bottom route. I'm learning a lot from these prototypes and whatever full game I end up making I'll probably pick and choose the best parts from the games so I'm glad you highlighted the item system :)
Need to MASSIVELY increase the blacksmith cost as currently its better to mass one unit than to get equal numbers. I'd rather an inventory with only about 4 active slots with items which vary largely. 50 inactive slots should be plenty, with 1 item per 1-2 levels & on boss rounds. Make an algorithm to make boss rounds appear semi-randomly. Add ascension which increases speed of production of units based on how far you got i.e gain 5 "castles" each increasing production by 10% at each 50 levels or something along those lines.
Really needs the late game sorted first though.
Love the games simplicity though.
Lastly it gets quite laggy when you spam click to produce units, although this became very pointless very early.
It doesn't mention anywhere that you need to CLICK the last piece. I swear i got confused early on because black pieces fell off at the end and i presumed i had won and it said try again. I then thought i had to use 6 moves of 6 in 0/6 games to pass it. I worked it out in the end. I enjoyed the simple music, not something i fancy finish playing but i certainly enjoyed playing what i did and i actually liked the sfx & music to go with the game. 5/5 as all it needs are a few more hints on the rules.
It will not let me select a deck. it just goes black then goes back to "choose a starting deck" no matter where abouts on the screen i click. I believe i have everything upto date
at mtn silviu (re adding territory/sec increase), this generally will not be important. The important thing about getting territory units, is for them to use maximum meat whilst still using between 1 and 10% of larvae. When it goes over the 10% mark, i suggest moving onto the next unit, because you want at least 90% of larvae to go into meat units, seeing larvae in meat units exponentially increase (i.e queens produce lots of drones which produce lots of meat and also has doubling).
I was going for time spent playing the game rather than ingame time spent and finished in 30 minutes or so.
Suggestions:
1)Would like to see a leaderboard of fastest plays.
2) Kongregate Award for completing the game, possibly an "easy" award for maxing one or all buildings.
3) Some way of further extending the game, what if you built one of the endgame structures, based on what you build you continue the game. Let us suggest the bank, imagine all prices are now 10x what they were before, which means we can make profit 10x as fast. Another could allow for a large bag size increase. One could allow for massive amounts of building upgrades etc etc.
4) If you manage to implement 3, consider extending "to infinity", like idle games are able to do.
5) A way to LOSE.
6. Make the donations from your 40% cut each year count for more.
7. Just building a different building is NOT an alternate ending. They need to DO SOMETHING.
All in all a great little game
u get mutagen from upgrading hatchery/expansion. there is no cap to the max mutagen as far as i'm aware. I must admit, this information could be clearer
This was utterly fantastic. The last level took me a good 12 or so tries, a little luck involved still.
Still, needing 12 tries on easy for the last level is a little worrying about the harder difficulties, or maybe i'm just bad :D
