Would like the option to take notes in-game (eg. where unused hp pools are in prior levels), or alternatively to have an automatically generated listing of where unused stuff is, perhaps with a fast-travel mode to get there quickly.
Side question: what does the exp shrine do exactly? If the effect wears off when one levels up or after some set period of time, this would be good to know as to optimize its use.
Agree with the other comments, local save doesn't work for me and the grind is too severe.. Fix these and the game would be much better than currently.
Solid game, my only suggestion would be to have an undo button, ideally to go back a number of moves, but even one move would be a great improvement in case of a misclick (or keyboard equivalent).
Looks the the dev (Camex) abandoned the game here (and soon on mobile), but is possibly trying to do something similar with “Tactical Monsters Rumble Arena”: http://tacticalmonsters.com
The game is available on steam, windows, mac, mobile, and google play if anyone wants to warn people on those platforms of what happened here, i.e. charging good money for level advancement & goods only to have players hit level limits more quickly and quit sooner as a result, then abandoning the game soon thereafter. Apparently this is the second time they have done something shady like this, as per a top comment on this page from around when the game was hosted here.
Also feel free to write to kong admin to suggest banning Camex from this site, as I have recently done.
Game not loading, apparently game devs report the intent to drop support for mobile users on May 20.. I will be writing to kong admins to suggest banning Camex (game dev) from hosting games on kongregate from now on.. Charging extremely high prices for perks only to abandon the game after 14 months (effectively 9 months or so w/ lack of updates) is completely unacceptable.. I invite others to write to kongregate and comment on the game devs pages on kong and elsewhere to warn others who might deal with them in the future..
Nice game. Would like to see a go back one move button though, as well as a confirmation box on the reset function (confirming that you will lose all progress), or conversely a way to jump to levels beyond those you have reached through linear progression in your current run.
Thank you so much for your feedback, version 1.2 is out! The game now saves automatically and you can choose what levels you want to play. Next version will have the undo button done, hopefully.
My bug report message to kongregate.. feel free to copy/paste or modify as you see fit:
Game won't load for a couple of days now... Some players on this site paid very good money on this game (and didn't get much what they paid for, as the level caps and minimal game additions mean they don't really get ahead much). If camex shuts this game down (in under a year) please block the developer from future appearances on kongregate, your players deserve better than this.
Nice series, thanks.
The final boss tends to glitch out on me though (game freeze), and the game won't allow me to save aside from the auto-save, nor to d/l and save a game to import.
"Out of memory. If you are the developer of this content, try allocating more memory to your WebGL build in the WebGL player settings" - about 3hrs play, two sacrifices, firefox.
More tracks would extend the fun and longevity of this game tremendously, if you could figure out a way to allow players to create and vote on tracks (real-time races would be cool too) the game would be much better IMO.
Heroic mode is nice but seems overly difficult for the upper rewards, getting three stars (or perhaps even two) on some of the areas seems all but impossible.
Really like the sky arena, but there is a glitch where one sometimes fights oneself, which makes no sense.
Regarding the arena battles, making them play out in real time would be a good way to prevent sniping positions seconds before the competition ends, which is annoying. Related, an ELO method of determining position would be fundamentally more fair overall, and wouldn’t be that hard to figure out (one could take the formula from chess for example).
All told a nice game though, I get that you have to get paid to make such games, and that those paying will tend to want to gain some sort of advantage in order to pay. Despite the negative comments, I (at level 42 anyways) think you have done a good job of it. Thanks.
(Having a forum on congregate would let me post this all at once instead of in 3 sections)
Would like to have soulstone (legend mode) battles in more places as to help one focus on getting/upgrading the heroes of their choice. Would also like to have more items in the general store (maybe 12-15) and quicker updates in that store, perhaps every 3 hours or so.
Would like to be able to see info on other guilds while being in a guild, and not lose ones guild points if one quits then rejoins a guild (the more knowledge and competition the better). Having a kongregate forum would help with this as well.
Limiting the availability of the guild boss seems pointless. Might be nice to have a queue on the guild boss that players can join so one can know how long one has to wait/plan ahead, also a formula somewhere (see again having a forum on this site to get feedback) about how much guild coins one will get for hitting the boss itself vs. killing octo-fish for items.
Would really like to see the metal helmet (the one only available on level 1-1 and one legend level) be available in more places, grinding the same level dozens of times for minimal hp is less than ideal (the same goes for any other bottleneck items). Related, higher level players are complaining about the grind for high-end items, to the point where they suggest not using arena stones for heroes at all with one exception (zorak), which also seems unduly boring.
I would like to be able to fight with less than 5 heroes and have the full exp divided equally among these (1,2,3,4) heroes instead of simply getting a set amount per hero regardless of number of heroes involved so as to level up certain heroes faster while increasing the difficulty should one desire.
It would be very nice to have the back button be able to go back multiple (ideally through all) moves. A hotkey for restarting would be nice too, as most people will be restarting multiple times per level, and dozens (or more) times for the whole game.
That said, nice game.
To Kongregate, a popular and challenging game like this needs at least one badge, the sooner the better.
Got a bunch of "market" stuff (not stuff i can sell to bottom ships), and now I am stuck at 50/50 warehouse, effectively killing the game... Maybe I missed what the market is / how it works, but in any case a dedicated spot for a market (instead of simply the warehouse area) would be nice...
Also, instead of slaves only, why not have people stopping buy to work for a wage instead?
Related, making the warehouse upgrade cheaper (2500 is a bit steep IMHO) would be nice.
Also, as others have said a price listing (or range) per season would be very useful, not all of use can keep all the prices in memory and adjust for seasons in real time..
Moving the security station closer to where the raids happen would be nice as well, as would other security upgrades, as would better descriptions of what the other buildings do..
All in all a nice little game, but could certainly be improved.
Yes. I have a working undo system in the next game, which is nearing completion as we speak.
