Zmonge, if you draw a monster you already have, its DPS increases. You can see it by clicking the magnifying glass in the top left corner of the monster upgrade screen, clicking on the general tab and scrolling to the bottom.
Late on the response, but in case anyone else comes along wanting to play, Greasy fork has a solution to be able to use Supernova: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/438325-kongregate-flash-games-fixer
Come for the badge, head to Steam for the prettier version, on sale for about another 4 hours (until 10 AM PDT 8/30/21) for only 49 cents! (I bought it this weekend, and it plays similarly, but with nicer graphics/interface, and better unit placement AI.)
Just a reminder, if your game is freezing as a receiver is about to catch the ball, you can turn off weather in the options to fix it. Not the ideal solution, but it's a workaround.
Are you playing on hard, sphartl1717? For people who are only getting the freezing now, what difficulty are you on (e.g. Dynamic 16?) I only play on hard, get the freezing issue, and I have gotten it in situations where there is no competition for the ball. I'm looking at a frozen screen right now where my bottom TE has no one within five yards of him. The ball traveled about 10 yards in the air. Other settings that may or may not matter: I always play right to left, 3 minute quarters, with 12 man rosters.
I know I mostly have been posting bugs (and I'm still having the occasional freeze as the receiver is about to catch the ball one.), but I do want to say how much I enjoy this game. I still go back and play New Star Soccer from time to time, and this is just as good. A lot of folks are calling for added complexity, which I disagree with. Keep it simple, that's the point. I like the realistic schedules, the skill involved in passing (tip to those concerned with the interceptions: there is a sweet spot for going over the head of a defender that you'll get a feel for, and knowing your guy's route is important; throw where he's going to be when there are no defenders on the path of the throw), and the any given Sunday vibe where a single fumble or interception can turn a game against a 2 star team into a tough fight (I play on hard, which might have something to do with that.
Thanks from me too on the Firefox fix! New bug, though. It appears that the last playable opponent card is being highlighted instead of the first. It's really obvious on the ninja, which highlights the card furthest to the right when a pair is showing, and I just had it happen on the unicorn, highlighting unifreeze instead of unihorn with three spades showing.
Love seeing this game in the BOTD rotation. Four years of on and off play between the easy and impossible badge for me. I know a lot of people dislike the extreme randomness of the game, but it's games like this and Mud and Blood where the RNG can completely change your game experience every time that are my absolute favorites.
What I like best about this game: Easy badge, Dec 16, 2012; Medium badge; October 15, 2013; Hard Badge, November 30, 2015; Impossible badge; best so far, level 70 and still trying after four years.
Although the green background for snapping to the grid is helpful, it still seems a little unforgiving. Maybe it shouldn't be possible to drop it on the board area without snapping to the grid? also, too many easy levels at the start, the first level I had to stop and think about at all was 16, where I scored 960. Overall, the game is a bit easy, my only two scores below 900 were level 23 (898) and 27 (828).
When you do the level that requires you to open a new window, you will get disconnected from Kong, and you will not get the achievement. Make sure you reconnect before you close out the game!
Thanks for the changes. Couple more things for now:
Pause during a level takes me to the weapons screen. I couldn't find a way to get back without restarting.
There are a lot of shots I cant take; if my cursor is too far to the right, it simply won't fire, even though the arc shows my shot where I want it to go. A good example of this is the top right banker on level 4, which I don't believe you can hit directly.
Playing around a bit more, I was playing to try and hit the bankers directly. I realized that I get a lot more points by destroying the floors and having the bankers fly around instead.
I see. We'll fix that bug in the next version, it's not a huge priority right now.
