It's been a solid 5 months without a new chapter. I get that things happen and schedules slip, but we were told the next one would be out by 4/28, and that's already really pushing the "Early 2019". Come on, Percon, step up your game.
We're def having trouble balancing him. He seems to be significantly more gear dependent than any other char, swinging wildy between super weak and pretty much unstoppable. I think it just has a lot to do with the way his cooldowns recharge. He basically snowballs in power since as he gets stronger he kills faster which causes him to recharge faster, causing him to kill faster.... very tricky balancing act here :P
SPOILER WARNING! Quit reading now if you aren't up to date on the game.
Okay guys, I hate to say it, but it's got to be Aether who did it. Think about it for a little bit. Ink and Liza are automatically ruled out, as they were in the boiler room when the murder took place. Rae is for all intents and purposes above suspicious because lifting a painting heavy enough to kill with only one arm seems implausible, at least. That leaves Tiana, Sean, and Aether. I think it's fair to say it wasn't likely Sean unless we're REALLY missing some critical information about his character, and Tiana has absolutely no motive to kill Beth and wants to get out of the situation as soon as possible. And that only leaves...
I also feel like the difficulty has dropped, but here's one word of caution: it probably should feel "dropped" if you've been playing since Chapter 1 and upgraded all of you guys wisely. It's one of those things where if you play hard at the beginning, it gets easier down the line. The only fight that actually disappointed me was the final battle.
Hey, come on guys, the Portnamvouians built 3 skyscraper hospitals right next to each other! They were practically asking to be bombed.
On the other hand, I didn't know bombs had the same effect as the eraser in Microsoft paint.
What this game is really about was the relationship of Ireland and Great Britain. Obviously we have unbalanced power dynamics and the option to choose rebellion, which only leads to chaosand mutual emnity (but also a lot more GREEN of the screen), or one of obedience, which inevitably leads to slavehood and making a living off prostitution and smuggling shamrocks across the border. The symbolism here is obvious, note that the two dominant colors in the game are red (i.e., Britain) and green (i.e. Ireland), the scenery is clearly based on the the ruined Irish urbanscape during the worst days of the Irish Civil War in the 20s. The statue element is almost certainly a reference to the mythical Queen Maeve, and notice just how many Irish stereotypes the otherwise featureless protagonist embodies: shortness, signs of alcoholism, catholic shaped hips and androgyny. Seriously, all they were missing was the green foam hat, but maybe they thought that would just make it too obvious.
