There seem to be problems with the hero climbing giants. Sometimes he'll go up halfway, then change his mind and go back down, only to change his mind again to go back up.
This impossible badge is based almost entirely on luck rather than skill. This makes it somewhat easier of an impossible badge to acquire. My advice to you all is to try about 10-20 minutes a day while you're bored, and you should all have the with minimum frustration.
I think the frequency of planes appearing should be lowered a bit. I just played a game where a massive plane came, taking up nearly half of the screen, forcing me to fly frantically into a corner to avoid it, only for a second plane (with the first one not having left the screen yet) to come from that very corner to wipe out my entire flock. It's a bit ridiculous (not to mention unrealistic) to have to dodge planes literally every two seconds.
