At a certain point, this game becomes impossibly difficult and unplayable. Enemies get more and more health, but my leader and sentries are capped at doing 4 damage (less if the enemies are closer). This could be offset by having perks work with sentries. Ill is just confusing - who gets it? how long do they get it for? I understand it's to prevent people from just using a single leader, but there's already incentive to not do that (getting more skill points to train non-maxed units). Adding the ill is redundant in purpose and just makes gameplay more frustrating. I should also be allowed to use potions whenever I want. I enjoy the automatic feature, but what if my leader has plenty of stamina and 4/5 of my sentries are tired? This game seems could be fun, but the mechanics feel broken and levels feel artificially difficult. Good games make me feel like I'm making progress and having fun. Meh games give me progress, but I have to grind. This game makes me feel like I'm losing progress.
You slow down too much when hitting obstacles. It's easier just to jump over them, or jump on top of them. It's also hard to tell what's in the background and what's an obstacle.
It'd be super helpful to have a number-of-shots on the screen currently. After a certain point, I'm not sure if my auto-fire is being held back by the maximum number of shots.
If the enemies bullets were on a layer above the player's shots, health upgrades wouldn't be as essential. It's kind of grind grind grind, buy health, advance to next levels. It's really hard to dodge, especially if you use upgraded guns. Otherwise, pretty fun 4/5
The gold to population ratio is kind of off. In the middle of a level, I have thousands of gold, but can only use a very small portion of it to buy units. More population? :D
How to gold/exp farm:
1. Unlock the penguin wizard
2. Make sure you have at least 150 food
3. Equip your exp/gold rings to maximize gain
4. Go to a summoning level
5. Use other characters/spells to knock down the castle
6. Summon about 10 penguin wizards (or enough to hold the minions at bay)
7. Allow the boss to summon the smaller minions. The penguins can freeze and kill them easily, but do very little damage to the boss itself. Do not have too many penguins, otherwise the minions are defeated too quickly, and the boss is attacked.
8. Check back every so often to see if you leveled up, or the boss is dead. Do whatever else you like.
9. If the boss is dead, repeat.
For me, it's about 85k and 5 levels every 15 minutes.
Having layout saves would be nice. For example, when fighting fast enemies, I prefer having every friend staying in one place, so they don't all mob over to one area, leaving open space. But after the fast wave, I want to switch everyone to different zones.
