More hints:
1. Eagle eye works as the detector in the previous game AND as in game map. Hold the toggle key to see the map.
2. You MUST do the Attack from tower mission at least once to unlock adjacent areas. It isn't enough to develop the tower.
3. At least on the version i played on Armor games, there is a bug where sometimes a recovered Master won't count. If this happens, visit the area again. You will be able to escort the Master again.
4. Guards that you trained up will help you with tower and mine upgrade missions. Make sure to turn OFF your renegade orc minions when training up guards so they won't steal kills from the guards.
5. When you continue to the next level, you keep all skills at both experience AND upgrade level that you had before. You will be able to use skills and weapons that you unlocked even if you haven't unlocked that Master yet in the new game. You will also keep all gold and resources.
Can the next Nerdook game be Legends of Kong 2, with similar open gameplay? This iron man ladder stuff doesn't appeal to me. I like being able to unlock/max out everything.
If you are supposed to lose the first encounter, MAKE SURE THE GAME MAKES IT CLEAR YOU DIDN'T STAND A CHANCE! Even now i only have the hearsay of other players to hint that i am not just doing that first fight all wrong. Arkadian crusade at least told you you were outmatched from the beginning.
Speaking of which, the game could stand with some tutorials, in game hints and tooltips to tell you what you are supposed to do.
Has good potential, but for now needs a lot of work to turn it into a great game.
Great game for when you just want to switch off and waste some time toying around with stuff. Needs more things to do, and an alternative start up to really build up an economy from nothing, but other than that, great! Certainly a welcome break from that endless deluge of tower defense games.
I played this game on Newgrounds and Armorgames, and was so glad to finally see it on Kong. The fact that it knocked Gemcraft down as the best rated game within a week of uploading speaks volumes.
Yes this is essentially Evil Genius without the base building and minion management. There are way too few games of this type(Dungeon keeper and Startopia maybe, but that one doesn't have world missions). Leaving those two aspects of EG out is not necessarily a bad thing either.
