I know there is specific reports in the reports page, but a quick 'last month income' on the company tab would be nice.
There is imo still not enough minable resources, some are just too much used overall, like coal and oil, which then makes electricty impossible to produce which then makes everything harder to produce.
And last (of my again big block of text), college got like a square glitch around them. Also it could be nice if they would take 'customers' like other shops, since having college in mountains shouldn't make the same amount as having one in a city !
I'm cheering you on guys :)
Thanks Blomo, this is gold. I'm glad to report that we are working on a couple of those issues (resource availability, monthly income summary, graphics updates) and a very interesting one that we hadn't considered but will definitely think through now, re Universities performance linked to nearby population. And thank you for the support. It means a lot to us.
*hey again ! Those changes are really good ! I've been waiting for an update and it looks you are going the right way (at least imo :p ) ! I really hope people will try that game more and more, building a real economy!
The fact that you listened to people who made comments should really make them think about coming and trying this, or so I hope :)
The sales and production showing up though are nice but with let's say a square of 4x4 of small industries makes it a bit messy, and I don't know for other computers (mine is fine) but maybe it can get laggy. An option to disable it would be nice :)
Now we can see price other companies sell, I looked at one and thought "damn he's selling so cheap what a bastard!" and that's a nice beginning to competition I think ! :D
Maybe tell beforehand how much a storage is worth in the construction description, and the other problem notified by Nefike.
For the bugs (I'm running on windows 7/google chrome): Fullscreen makes my screen grey too, some resources are out of territory,at some point sound goes off and I didn't find some city halls.
On the resources tab, selling 100/1000 each time can be mousebreaking, maybe a scaling bar 100-10000 would be better if possible. It would also change the fact that you have to liquidate if you don't want to click 500 times even if you wanted to sell only half your 100000 whatever ressource.
So overall I enjoyed but it gets short and the lack of explanation makes you wonder how you are getting your money.
I was also dreaming that you could choose between playing industries and cities at the beginning, getting them to work together ( i.e making place in a city for a 4 square business or colonizing an empty territory ).
Hoping it can help, and that there was no forum thread to post this already.
(Sorry I realize my text is a big block)
Hello, I enjoyed playing this Beta but somehow it didn't feel like there was much going on : I'd like to warn that I've been alone most of the time, just to tell that my game experience was without anyone but the already built businesses.
That's why I'm not sure if I understood anything about the market changes, since I can't tell how the world would react with more than one player. And I don't know if it's because of that but I did most of my money just buying/selling trucks, basically clicking thousand times :s
Anyway, what could be the action? Would it be developping the world cities ? I can't tell if I'm even helping them. Would it be business competition?
I can't see how I can influence my opponent's bussiness, when I don't know if I'm taking any customers from him by placing a retail shop of mine near his, or don't know how much he is selling.
Hi Blomo, thank you for this insight. The last update specifically addressed some of these issues. There is now more visibility into how your actions affect those around you. e.g. You can now see how many customers you are stealing from competitors (and your own nearby stores) when you build new stores or change your prices to be more/less competitive. You can also see competitor retail prices.
