There are some issues with the game, as others have pointed out, but I think really, you just need some playtesters to go through and help you work out bugs and difficulty balancing. You've got the basic ingredients you need, you just need some polish and maybe something to make the game stand out.
It's a fun game, but it just doesn't feel finished. The memory issue, obstacle placement and number...the game just needs the last 10% to be finished and it would be much more fun to play.
I like the level variety, but sometimes the green levels can be really frustrating because you can get screwed with a bad selection of powers/critters.
Maybe I missed something, but I think the tree of life only gives +15 pop, and not +25 like it says. Addicting game...completely pointless, but incredibly addicting.
It's a nice work, but I'm not sure that it could be classified as a "game" per say. I feel like, I would've liked to have learned a little more about what life is like in Vietnam, or maybe have a few more things to do (buy the flowers, and find the water bucket/sponge etc). Then you could make the player curious about why they're gathering these unusual things... I was also curious about what the writing on the grave said. But it's still nice to see some "games" like this as it shakes things up.
Fun game, but the difficulty isn't really consistent as the levels progress. There aren't any REALLY hard levels, but it seems like a lot of the levels toward the end are easier than some toward the beginning.
For the "kill a certain amount of enemies within X time" missions, just stand still and let them come to you (use the down+D move or the up+D,D when they come). For some reason the game spawns less enemies when you're moving.
Aside from that, cool animations, art, etc, but the game feels really slow, and even a small amount of story between levels would really have made the game more interesting. I also think a lot of the combos don't trigger reliably, (The 360 death suplex for example, unless I just suck at the timing).
Adding an ability to jump, improved walking speed, sidescrolling levels instead of all of them being the same arena, and this game would be 5/5 easy...but as it is, it feels like the developer finished the combat system, and then wanted to finish the rest of the game as fast as possible...leave the game fun, but incomplete feeling.
Why do the zombies take a full second to fade away after you kill them with the shotgun (while they continue to follow and damage you)? And really, the lobby thing basically makes this game unplayable here. I get the impression that this is a game that's a lot more fun with more players, but because the game is basically broken, I can't really say if it would be fun or not, because there simply aren't enough people willing to put up with refreshing the game every time they die. If you stuck through it, I am impressed, but personally, I'm not that patient.
