A Brief Biography:
Back Story:
Artos was born in a world where things had become so advanced that in a war, all of civilization and their technology was lost. Hundreds of years later, still before Artos was born, people started putting treads beneath their towns, villages, and cities. This evolved, and now by the time Artos is born, towns (and cities, etc.) have become almost like entities in of themselves. Larger towns will hunt other towns and destroy them with weapons, or eat them for fuel. Artos was born in a small fortified town with earth walls, deep in the cold grounds of what was once known as New England. Growing up, he and a group of friends were always practicing, weather hunting, sword fighting, archery or a mix, they quickly became the best in the town, Artos and his two brothers leading them on a level of their own. And so, when their small town was attacked, and the band was out hunting, there was only sub optimal defenders, who were over run by the larger, better armed hunter town. Artos and friends returned to find their town being looted, and they struck against the attacking town. While they eventually defeated and killed the attacking town, it was too late and so when Artos was 15, he stopped being the best fighter in his town, and started being the best fighter in their company. Following the destruction of their village, Artos, his elder brother and his twin, along with seventeen other friends, all of whom were warriors, set out and began the Line Breakers company, and mercenary band of friends who would take out hunting towns like the one that killed ther village and would fight only those missions they thought honorable. However, even the best must fall, and over the next two years, a few of the Breakers died, but they were still a strong force. When Artos was 17 though, a raid went bad when they were given bad information, and his elder brother, who Artos had always looked up to, was killed, along with three other friends. In that raid, they lost more men than they had in the past two years, and their leader. Destrought, the group stopped taking jobs for a year. After that year, Artos and his twin brother inherited the lead of the Breakers, and once more they set forth to wreak havoc in the name of all they found good, and sacred. Two years pass, a few more men die, and then, with a double season till Artos’ 20th birthday, they went on another raid with bad information. They were sent to find and take down a rouge stalker, a kind of metalic thinking zombie that large cities have. Unknown to the Breakers was the stalker’s extra power, aswell as they would have company from a band of hunters. When they neared the stalker, they heard battle and the four remaining frinds peeled off, circling round back. But the hunters had none of the profesionality as the Breakers, and so the beast broke away, charging Artos and his twin, Rudi. In the fight, rudi ended up sacrificing himself to bring down the walker when it was about to kill Artos. As Rudi was dieing, he told Artos of two old tech weapons he had found from the days of advanced sciences, before the hour’s war which ended the previous civilization. While Rudi didn’t know what they were, he wknew they were linked and powerful. He had intended to give one to Artos on their twentieth birth day, such that they might be linked, but now wanted Artos to have them both. These are Artos’ now trade mark Bokkens, (wooden swords which are heavy wood and the same wieght and size as Katanas, and are used for practicing). In the hit in which they tried to stop the large town from making more Stalkers, all the remaining Breakers died, except Artos. They also failed to defend a wall protecting the farming villages beyond. Artos spent a score of years standing on the lone surviving pillar of the wall, guarding and training. He went on later to found the Line Breakers guild. more about that in the home town section.
Home Town: (i know this is exstreamly long, but the thing is, i made this town for an rp, and it fit his char so well, i am keeping it.)
Guild:
the Line Breakers, a group of men who died except for their leader, Artos Mackenzie (my char) Artos later went on to found the guild enough time ago that it is shrouded in enough obscurity its age is unknown. Legends and Artos’ own statements point to the fact he founded it as a reminder and a monument to his fallen kin, and it goes through the ages, becoming a center of knowledge and warrior prowess. After a few centuries, smaller Duns which were spin offs of it formed. There are now a network of duns over the world, and many other realms as where. Indeed, everywhere Artos has been seams to have many Duns. Strangely, and often unbelievably, Artos still lives and watches over his guild, and what he considers his children. The dun has great walls and a dome which are for all purposes impenetrable when being defended. After such a long time, the Line Breaker’s customs have taken on a close to religious aspect, though any belief in a good is a minority. They are more a mix of scholars who are kept separate and sheltered, believing in Mathematics, and a group of warriors who are similar to Martial monks of old in this realm. However, the Clan, as they call their guild, believes strongly in fighting the good fight and protecting the week, which has resulted in them not involving themselves overly in the greater world beyond their walls. Also, the length of time they have existed has resulted in a slight mistrust and disjoint with the world at large. That coupled with the great empires they have seen rise and fall makes them hesitant to get more greatly involved than a few men who decide to make the war a project. Though those who do get involved Always seek approval from Artos before hand, and he will generally lead them to battle or in their interactions. IN this incident, a group of warriors have come to Artos and asked him that they might get involved in the recent struggles, helping to rid the world of the hunters who would destroy the worlds unique race of dragon, and Artos agreed, yet made sure the men understood he thought it would be likely they would die, and they should finish all of there affairs in the Dun’s world before venturing out into the world outside the walls.
places to go:
A large group of learning halls and training grounds, the whole town is basiclly made of the guild’s grounds and walls, though in this age’s secular world, (the world outside of the walls of a dun) a town has grown around its walls. But the guild members, or Line Breakers as they are called, do not leave the seclusion of there walls much except when called on or feeling the need to help those outside of the walls. And so the town is of little importance, and its shops little frequented by the Line Breakers. There are also areas for growing etc. in side the walls of the Dun.
military might:
A group of warrior brothers who dedicate their lives to different aspects of fighting, they have almost half their numbers in some of the most elite warriors of the age, but there are few of them. Also, this age mostly believes the Line Breakers of knowing greater truths which they withhold, and so mistrust or outright hate the Breakers. In fact, the town outside the walls was founded two centuries ago by a besieging army, and as a result hate the Breakers. Also, one of the prominent religions of the age is anti Breakers, so many devout hate them as well.
Population:
Over 1500. About 750 0f those are scholars, and 500 dedicated warriors, with 250 who are somewhere in between, about that number of five hundred warriors have been able to defend the Dun for more than the past three millenia.
Strengths:
These are still unknown, the only known fact is that he has strength and power equall to that of Albel, though he prefers not to use it, and is an expert of hiding it, making it seam he has no powers. He has yet not been made to use his powers, although his Bokken are known to be more than normal, though they look, feel, and seam normall to all probes of them. Artos is also rarely found without both Bokken on him.
FEW! done. sorry that took so long, and i will edit in more about his powers when i have discovered what they are going to be.
**Edit 1: Artos is now Body over mind bonded to Lia, and lives for her. Also, one of his powers have been discovered (besides the obligatory super speed, strength reflexes, etc.) He also can, when he has taken in his power, make one of his bokken into a worm hole sword, which will cut through anything, because it isn’t cutting, it is simply teleporting basically along an edge, but it sends you to a dimension in high science, where magic doesn’t work and he has destroyed all of t he tech, so the only way out is for him to use the reverse app and send you back. he can send all of you, in which case he tries not to, because it is much harder to keep you there, after a little bit you would be able to teleport back, or he can send bits of you there, which is what he does more commonly. However, when he only sends bits of you, it is a cut cleaner than a scalpel, and it seals the wound afterward, so it doesn’t really cause that much damage, as well as anything he cuts off will reattach if placed near where it was removed from.
