Considering the way a single enemy can kill you in a matter of seconds, I think the concept of 'health' is kind of a tease. This could be remedied if the monsters died after biting the pipe once (Broken teeth, much?). The bigger monsters could take more, or even a black death character who definitely makes you want to retreat to the defense of your pipe.
I think it would be more challenging if you could travel back over yourself (unless you don't take the monster/damage advice, then it's just overkill). Upgrades and more monster variations (with different traits) would be welcomed. However, as it stands I couldn't make it 3 levels into your game without a great level of frustration and hopelessness that far surpassed challenged and went into a hopeless task that didn't seem to have a reward at the end.
Eh -shrug- Maybe I'm just in a mood, but I couldn't get into the game. It felt like I've played it before, far too reminiscent of Elephant quest to hold my interest.
Very enjoyable ^^ The game was easy to just pick up and play, and was as fun as it was satisfying. I wouldn't mind more challenging levels though.
Other than that, great game 4/5
Maybe I've been watching too much Zero Punctuation, but I can't really stand to play much more of this game. Everyone is complaining about not having auto-follow, but once I did the glitch to make it do so the game wasn't much more enjoyable. In short, it was a typical shooter; nothing new. That wouldn't have killed this game for me if it was just a little engaging, but killing enemies is just a pain and boring.
Things got bleak, but only for a moment. Once I got past starvation, I built up a huge army and annihilated the map. It was so easy I decided to take every block on the map XD
I wish the game told you the maximum amount of explosives you could use to get the cup rating; I spent forever on some levels when I could've used four times as many explosives!
Also, I was frustrated quite often when it seemed the whole build was "leaning" (by which I mean crushing) a person and they still did not die.
This game is very addicting o.o That being said, I can't say I very much enjoyed the second half, it became a chore. I was compelled to finish, sure, but I had no interest in actually figuring out the combination on my own; I just wanted to finish quickly so I could go play oblivion.
I agree that you should be able to see your progress in some form. Sure, you get to see a huge range of elements later in the game, but that just makes things more cluttered; not much accomplishment. I will say that I enjoyed the sequel much more.
