All the joking aside, you really should be proud. 'Newb' or not, a good snake game requires some involved logic and a good grasp of arrays. Don't be discouraged by nay-saying. Game creation is very complex, you gotta start somewhere. Hang in there and keep learning, its a lifelong kind of hobby. I've played drums for 5 years, I still think I suck. But truth is, I'm better than I ever thought I would be. And I'm better than a lot of people too. So, yeah. Own your shit. You're good.
Good work! If you are getting the concepts of variables and how they can be used you're golden. Its tough to learn programming, but you seem to be off to a great start. Keep it up :)
You know, I didn't think I would enjoy it, But I like the game play a lot. Its a nice start for a game. I might suggest adding an arcade mode to it. If my score were able to climb and climb based on my skill level that would be great. In addition to points, various animals could also add to your available time. Upgrades are always great as well. Perhaps different zones with varied wildlife? The possibilities are always endless. Good work, I hope you keep working on it.
The graphics are top notch and gameplay is smooth. I think you have what could be a good game. But right now I find the karma system to be frustrating. Minnows are necessary, and virtually unavoidable. Yet they seemed to decrease my karma, which eventually killed me. I could be wrong about that but that's how it seemed. The other karma issue is the frequency of available fish. You should try and implement a system which increases the the number of fish the player prefers. Right now it seems like the game will end no matter what the player does. Any good game needs to be designed to reward success and strategy.
Good coding, great graphics, but the game-play needs some work to be fun.
