If you don't mind cheating, it's really easy to win with this glitch. If you open your inventory and click on an item, then click the options button with the item still on your cursor, and then click the red background of the options screen. This will destroy the item, so be careful, but you will permanently gain the stats from the item, as if you were wearing it.
