L25 is ridiculous if you're mousepad bound, and the screen is so small that you're drifting out of UI range and suddenly the paddle doesn't respond EXACTLY when you need it to. I usually love breakout. Instead, this made the difference between 4/5 and 2/5.
One of few idle games I've rated 5/5. Usual reasons - layered content, humor, unobtrusive tutorial / money offers. First time I "fell asleep", I LOLed. Gkick a member > Elitist Jerk achievement?? As a fan of that site, I LOLed again. And then I saw that picture of Flathead and knew you were olllld school. Salute. ...Oh, and everyone: pay them some money for real world merch!
I regret admitting that I thought this was just another simple puzzle game like a bunch of RPGMaker type games I've played in the past. It was around Episode 8 that I noticed this was being a lot smarter than average... and yeah, the serial cliffhangers are working well. /// I suspect Percon is a professional writer.
Been playing this for a little over an hour. I thought I'd pretty much seen everything once I had my planet's economy chugging along, but the game opens up in very interesting ways once you colonize. I think I'll be here a while.
"Retreat is useful because sometimes your heroes are idiots." Sure enough, I enter a fight, and they act like idiots, hanging up on scenery. So I hit retreat. Sadly, heroes are still idiots, still hang on scenery, and die anyway. So now I'm out both one retreat and one life. :-(
Gods give at least three levels of bonuses, if you follow your devotion enough times. Gedo level 1, for example, starts with animals friendly; level 2 gives heroes regeneration; level 3 starts every fight with an animal ally. // Nit level 1 gives increased strength and energy; level 2 increases toughness; level 3 makes heroes unhealable, but gives them vampirism (how much?) and dark resistance. // I'm still researching the others. We might need a forum for this game...
@Zanatar: I found decent success with the usual triad: tank, healer, dps. Try to choose racial bonuses that stack well (orc tank, southerner archer, elf caster). Probably best to specialize, but know that level caps skill, and you're probably going to want to diversify just a little.
Other nice to haves: let me see enemy health bar even if it's behind scenery; make the "you have skill/ability pts" more prominent at top; make locations I haven't finished more prominent; allow me to drag map around to places I've seen. // Overall, really enjoying this. Constant challenge; gear swaps seem to matter; love some of the special moves (stuns, rapid attacks, charging on horseback!!).
Managed to get 24/24. Did a sweep of some other features; everything looks good. One final thing: is there a way to implicate Guff? I tried all four of his combos, along with "One-Eye definitely kidnapped" and "Zombino wouldn't risk his rep", and nothing seems to lead to him. I know it's not him, but I feel like the game wants you to be able to make this mistake.
Oh you can already do that. See the "Pencil" icon near the auto route name
