Having Up and Jump as separate controls was our initial (and preferred) control scheme, but we were told that it would be too many controls (two directional control sets and two action controls), so Jump got combined with Up. Even with the default controls, you can still build up if you use W+Spacebar, but admittedly this isn’t the easiest to remember.
