This...was abysmal. I don't mean "oh, it was terrifying;" I mean it was downright terrible. At first, it was okay. It was your average run-and-gun endurance fest that we've already seen, such as the earlier game How Dare You.
But then, but THEN the final boss just has to be blocked off until you earn every achievement. What if the player is just good enough to get there? Why not let them try out the boss? Why make the player suffer over and over again until every last objective is met before allowing them the distaste of having to defeat the boss? It'd be one thing if the boss were hard and the difficulty forced the player to grind (bad enough in my opinion), but I had to replay the game not once, not twice, but at least FIVE times before I could even fight the boss. That's just ridiculous, and worse off, it's bad game design.
This game was too simplistic, even for a mobile game. If not that, then at the very least this game was arduous and repetitive. All the game is is sliding around the screen slashing things. With little else, and levels lasting longer than the Harry Potter books, it quickly became stale. Your earlier games--all of them--were more enjoyable than this.
This series is basically Railroading: The Flash Game. There's no sense of player choice or freedom, as you're forcing players to do all the island activities in a specific order. Some of the minigames (Sun Spot, looking at you) make no sense with or without context.
You're trying to be interesting and failing very, very hard. This game is bland and generic, and the fact that you can't speed up text isn't helping.
Bleh.
We will look into it.
