Why are there no graphics other than items? Why is combat automated? Why are there no sound effects? The artwork is very pretty but this game needs more game.
Beautiful little game. I found the normal difficulty to be a bit too easy, but I see there is a hardcore unlock. I really enjoyed how the controls force you to move in serpentine patterns to avoid being hit.
Fun gameplay, but I have a few questions:
1) Are element swap items supposed to be able to permanently change your heroes' element? I was using a cold swap item every few missions on my energy-type hero. After a streak of 3 missions or so where she fought as cold-type I took the item off and she's stuck as cold now. It's an ok drawback for using element swap items if intended I guess, but I wish it wasn't left as a surprise.
2) How does Arkandia Jones work? I gave him 1000 gold, he disappeared for a few quests and then came back with a crappy item for me. I get that he can learn to bring you better stuff, but do i just have to keep hiring him or how does it work?
3) I know others have asked this already, but why are melee units so underpowered? They have the smallest range, can't hit flying monsters (which seem to be about 30% of the enemies) but they don't seem to do extra damage or anything to make up for it? Unless I'm missing something it would seem they need a serious buff.
Very nice little mood piece. There might be room for a few small improvements, but they're not even worth mentioning. Games like this are a big part of why I keep coming back to Kong, and I'm always happy to see more of them. 5/5.
The rules about pieces only connecting if they line up perfectly is poorly explained (and frustrating) at first until you figure it out. After that the game is very good. The later levels could have used a twist of some kind to break up the repetition. Graphics and sound are clean but very sparse. Great platform/puzzler overall.
I totally agree with Zoroaster. The core of this game is actually a very fun and addicting strategy/puzzle mashup. The AI, while not great, is better than some of the other flash stategy games I've played. This game would be amazingly fun if it was multiplayer. I don't like that some of the art is lifted from elsewhere. I'd love to see a remake or sequel with all original art, more spells and MULTIPLAYER. I would play that all day.
I've seen these game mechanics a few times before, but I like puzzle platformers, so I guess that's fine. The graphics and level design are straightforward, not amazing but certainly not bad. Where this game really shines, though is the storytelling, which is fantasic, and puts it among the best art games on this site. 5/5 from me, sir.
Good fun puzzle concept but the level design is too repetetive. It would be nice if there were some new twists in the later levels. Also the music needs work. Only one song and it loops about every 10 seconds.
Sorry, this game is terrible. The hints aren't literal, they're just really obscure. Many of the solutions are also very buggy or won't work on certain hardware or browsers.
