Well-- it was very different and entertaining, until the snake. An element of silly, pointless, frustration in a game that seems to avoid that element otherwise entirely. 2/5. Yes, it deserves better-- direct your complaints to the snake, it eats stars as well as fairyflies.
Platforms, pattern bosses, simple graphics, and amazing gameplay if a little frustrating at some times. A couple of interesting mechanics, and it avoids the pitfalls of most platformers with checkpoints and not assigning an arbitrary number of lives. Good stuff. Hope to see more like it.
One point for originality-- unfortunately zero points for fun (even after waiting to 'get the hang of it' before making my decision). Originality is wonderful, but it doesn't make a game enjoyable by itself. This game is 95% in the controls, and most of the time I found the whole experience frustrating because of them. It's not extraordinarily difficult-- eventually you bungle into a solution, but I find myself playing merely motivated by the challenge, I'm not particularly inspired to see what maze of mines I'll have to dodge through next with a ball that seems to roll through the line with impunity. At least you did put the jump in there. It would have been infinitely worse if you'd had us try to use the line to ramp the ball up too.
This feels like grinding. I didn't like the game before mainly because of the extreme amount of randomness involved and I like it less even now that I've tried to play it for the challenge. I feel it would have been more expedient to have a game called "Lets roll some dice" and have the part of the challenge be "Roll three 12s in a row on a 12-sided die."
There is some strategy to the game, and it has some interesting bits to it, but the combat mechanic is just far too unpredictable for you to plan beyond "throw as many monsters as you can onto the table and attack with everything every turn." So most of the 'strategy' falls on trying to make sure that you have the biggest advantage in the die roll.
A good first step, but take the concept beyond 0 to stat dice rolls and you might have something more playable.
It is indeed somewhat entertaining to climb a pile of bodies to the sky.
It however, is not so much, to find disabled features because I choose to play this game on a site I know, enjoy, and trust, instead of another site.
No, I will not visit your website to get the "full featured" game, I simply will not play.
I also don't give full ratings for games that aren't full. So 3/5. Your fourth star is in the mail.
Interesting. Sort of a twist on the Rush Hour game with the disappearing blocks and switches and such. Once upon a time, I might have found this interesting and enjoyable, but now after a few minutes I find myself motivated not by the enjoyment of the game itself, but solely the card challenge, and even then, I'm not sure I want to bother.
It's a good effort, I just don't find it enjoyable.
Decent. Again, I'm reminded of Kareteka but it suffers the same issues of Achilles. Completely random damage, a lot of luck involved, kick locks, etc. The purchaseables and level selects are nice touches, but it doesn't make up for the combat being the same. Neither in this game nor Achilles have I found a reason to jump, much less jump attack.
Reminds me of Karateka in some respects. A good Kareteka remake would be awesome-- but this isn't quite. Same complaints as others, damage and stun etc seems to be almost entirely random, or the methods with which to inflict maximum damage are too arcane to be known. 4/5 because it's better than average still, in my opinion, and is fun, if for no other reason than to chuck javelins through eyes.
Well, it was almost fun. But not really. But what can you expect? TIt's not really a game, it's an ad for a game in game format. If some time and thought was put into it, it could have been much more enjoyable. 2/5 for obvious lack of effort from a gigantanormous publisher.
I don't know why I love this game so much. Maybe it's sadistic glee at the thought of a hedgehog on re-entry. Yes, there's luck involved, but it's just fun. 4/5
