Buy and max spin, add and upgrade fins - rocket spins out in calm air, becomes uncontrollable ignoring input, defies aerodynamic principles, and always fails to match the smooth control of a hot air balloon at 95,000ft has in a gale.
Current state and opinion - the game is a self perpetuating pay-to-win. Can only progress with rare items, and can only access those for purchase from level 10 arena or cash. Arena starts with a couple players your level and everyone else higher, and every deck you encounter contains cards unavailable unless you pay to play that simply decimate your deck. Progress is limited to an open wallet and not deck construction capacity. Dropped to 1/5.
Achievement Unlocked: Create a game with the finest selection of achievement names covering references from popular culture to cult favourites, then integrate those same aspects throughout the game seamlessly without detracting from the play.
Sensationally done! Well done Ironhide Games!
So much potential wasted. Great game, except it is the single worst I've seen for bag space. Every element in game took more. Even identifying items so you could wear them, took 2 slots for ID mats, and one for each item. By level 4 my character had 3 items on and 7 waiting to be ID'ed. The game play went from fun the bloody uncomfortable.
I knew I was in for a rough time when the best feature of the game was the theme song. Truly, the game should offer far larger rewards for number of launches ... and everything else, so one doesn't rerun Bison for a polished game.
Zooming in the game so one can actually make out what is on the screen leads to a miserable laggy play. At 100% zoom the game becomes juggling super-bounce balls with the head of a matchstick!
Game forgot all the important parts. "Cross-contamination", "Shithouse Hygiene", "Manky Mixers" and "Tolerated Self-Important Customer" badges. You also have customers returning 3 weeks in a row consuming FAT shakes. No weight gain. No pimples. Truly, how hard is it to go "Regular customer - same again thanks?"... Nope - lets drag out the mundane part of mundane work and put cheesy grins and cheesy exaggerated responses to comprehensive banality.
Gorgeous graphics, depth and animation. (I want the pixie foxes back!) Game does need another button; replay music. While the atmosphere the music cycle of playing music then background sounds creates works incredibly well, I just found as time went on I wanted to hear the track continuously... so I downloaded the song, muted the game and played it on repeat :D
Got to love getting down to the 4th level, and the first 3 items you get are replacement gear "improvements" which remove every speed bonus you have, with the old items auto-sold. Longevity was one very misplaced concept after that!
Game can be fun in many cases... unfortunately too much random target delegation by units leading to defenders often ignoring attackers requiring a small amount to kill to attack a new unit instead.
Just won a couple of Parting Gifts. Decided to make a cheese deck, which weirdly outclassed my main deck. Parting Gift + Fresh Zombies with the rest of deck made up of generators for fast gold etc. Release enough zombies to be slaughtered, and watch them kill their own portal. Add a repair or 2 for the rare times you actually kill anything.
"Target has full head of hair, goatee and glasses" - ok, so one of these identically dressed potential targets with full head of hair, goatee and glasses is the one to shoot... hmm... wait 15 seconds, and search... target 7/20 matching description acquired... nope, try again.
If you played this game before badges added, all in-game achievements do not work. I had most of the achievements beforehand, and now none work. 7 windmills - still no, hitting space stars - no alt bonus, 1km under 3m - nope... other than that great game (if muted).
