Pirate hideouts have a maximum range of 50km. put on enough range upgrades, and you can sit outside their range and just kill them while you do something in another tab, they give ridiculous cash and like, 3 artifacts when I killed one.

I implore you people to vote up the 'pirate' tag. They're trying to steal our hard earned money! Arr! All hands on deck!
