MISSION 8 WANG DEFENDS: Tweak your graphical settings (remove bloom and candy) until Wang starts shooting normally. Mission is a piece of cake once his reloads goes back to standard.
Help, Im stuck pretty bad... I got the squirrels, the birds and now the fish. And... what now? Oh, don't know if it helps, but the birds keep eating all the damn fish!
I suggest you grab a hundred or so sentences - particularly those including punctuation and numbers. Once a user types in a sentence, the game automatically selects a new one and presents it to the player. At the beginning of the game, the user selects say 10, 20, 50 sentences to type out. The game keeps track of the user's score and shows him at the end of the game.
Oh hey... I think I won the game. The guy came back onto the screen, cursed at me then told me he was from {random third world country} and that he represented Mr. {random english name} from {random big oil company} and had {random number between 12 and 271} million {euros, dollars or pounds, but not yen} to give me for {being last living relative of} Mr. {same random english name}.
I do believe all my fellow Kongregaters have entirely failed to see the point of this game. This is a deep and analytical look at today's society and our consumerist culture. In particular, it is referencing the rise of Indie gaming as evidenced through Gary's mod and critiquing the often lacking structure and coherence of such games. We should all take heed and learn from this experience. This is so great I actually award it the coveted 1 star.
Okay, I wont troll, but time for some constructive criticism:
1) Graphics need an update - it might help to ask around and find a decent artist. Besides, it's more fun to work on a project with other people.
2) More figuring stuff out - There's really no challenge to the game. Why not let us do stuff ourselves? Maybe a clever puzzle or two!
3) Writing - Well actually, from what I have been able to gather so far, you seem to be okay storyline wise. Short as it was, I felt a bit of a connection with the characters, which is always a good start. Keep up with that :)
Okay, while this is overall a good game, I have a few grips with it.
1) Turret targeting and bullet speed
The turret turning is a bit strange - they turn too slow for such a fast paced game, meaning that most of the time they are turning instead of shooting. When they DO acquire a target, they don't lead the target (important when their target is moving perpendicular) but shoot AT it. If they were lasers, this would not be a problem – but bullets are slow and miss most of the time.
2) Upgrade usefulness.
I think it would make more sense that each turret level gives a different upgrade than the same one. My snipers certainly don't need more range, but they could use more damage or faster firing rate.
3) Income.
A bit too fast maybe? Played various difficulties and I was more limited by my ability to place turrets and upgrade them than by my income.
Overall an excellent game though, and I want to see it developed with some more levels and greater turret variety :) 4/5
