This game is very similar to an oldie PC game called "Critical Mass." Although there are notable differences (you choose which weapons to fire in CM, while in this game, it's auto), I see this game still has much potential. Keep up the good work.
Revamped version is definitely much better. For me, the most welcomed addition is that all clues now show the number of adjacent tiles of interest. It made the game more enjoyable and the "Thorough Background Check" badge more attainable (compared to the previous game version). Keep up the good job.
Twenty-four Karats of Fury
Dude! You just completed the Twenty-four Karats of Fury achievement in Mechanical Commando and won the Twenty-four Karats of Fury badge and 60 points!---- After an hour'ish of trying to come up with the perfect strategy. After much trial and death, I think that the levels are randomly chosen in survival. Just hope you get lucky and don't have to deal with the "4-tanks-plus-cannons-everywhere" level. Good luck to everyone else who's going for the badge. xD
@ blazoneying: The less damae you take, the better. Usually, you need to keep the damage taken per map below 15 to 20 if you want a Gold Star. I find that around 25 or higher usually give me a Silver Star. I'm not sure if it depends on the stage, though.
@ PFStelford: Thanks. =) And try either of my recommendations. You'll probably have better luck. Heck, use anything with a range longer than 1/4 of the game screen. Just hug the wall and aim for the boss' head. His flamethrower can't reach you if you're hugging the wall (at least it never reached me).
@ PJStelford: Why would you use that crappy, short-ranged weapon? Try the Homing Rocket or Rocket Launcher (the latter is stronger, I believe). Stand far and spam = win.
@ phindmeaphish: Yeah, there's a unit limit, "buddy." If you keep spamming Riders (or any units), you'll eventually see.
@ sonneillon: The 500 kills badge does work. Just save the game, reload the site, then load the game again. If that doesn't work, then can't help ya there.
As for the game, like many people have pointed out, the game's too easy. I ended up spamming Riders just for the fun of it. And perhaps you should seek someone to help make the story line more... dramatic. As of now, it sounds rather dead and repetitive.
Erm... this doesn't violate any copyright laws...? But I guess this game is more of a homage to the original RR than anything else. Anyway, like a few others have pointed out: the controls are a bit fast. Allow some kind of slider option to slow it down as it is too easy to run to the walls on the side at the current speed. I've never played the original RR, so my rating will be based on what I've played from this game. (2/5)
Quite a unique concept. However, the lack of monsters and everything else ruined the potential that this game had. I see that you plan on rewriting the game, which I am sure will include more features. But for the time being: 3/5.
Erm... interesting music choice, although I don't think it quite fits the game... At any rate, it was kind of fun. But with only 3 possible temporarily upgrades is no fun. But thank you for including a mute button... especially with this... erm... "music" choice. (3/5)
Is it just me or does the Up + Left doesn't work...? Anyway, the graphics are definitely... cute? But gameplay lacks as it feels extremely repetitive. Sure you may keep playing to "level up" your spaceship, but after accomplishing the challenge, I feel no reason to replay the game. Perhaps add more features to allow create an incentive to replay. (2/5)
This game is very unique. I don't understand why it didn't win the competition as I personally believe it is better than some in the top 3. Regardless, this game has a bright future if it continues development. Much luck to you. (5/5)
