It's a fun idea for Artaxes to have special abilities for the Lion King quest. Maybe Jim the Lumberjack could have them for the Red Riding Hood (What Big Teeth You Have) quest?
OK, so I've managed to get Void, and I've included Life Tap in his skills, but he never actually heals (one turn) after defeating the enemy. What am I doing wrong?
"If you can’t handle opponents of ever increasing difficulties in order to progress, this game (or indeed all games) probably ain’t for you, but since you’ve stopped playing anyway, it’s all a moo point. s not because they include grinding, but because they treat PvP as the only game in town instead of as an optional feature.
My comment on May 11 (since I quit playing, I'm only seeing your response now): "Sigh. I had hoped that the MMO aspect of this game was optional, but now you're forcing me to battle a higher-level opponent if I want to keep playing? Not all of us worship at the MMO altar, you know. Interesting story and dialogue, but I guess I'll just have to find myself another game." Your response: "Are enemies of ever-increasing difficulty a unique element of MMOs? I seem to recall finding this feature in ... well, just about every game ever made. Huh." ... No, they're not. Opponents, as in "other players", however, are. That's kinda what sets MMORPGs apart from regular RPGs. So yeah, instead of just letting me play the game for the story, you force to battle another player, who's of a higher rank than me. And yes, having no choice but to enter a fight I was sure to lose is why I decided to quit this game. Still, your snide response did your game no favours, either.
If you can't handle opponents of ever increasing difficulties in order to progress, this game (or indeed all games) probably ain't for you, but since you've stopped playing anyway, it's all a moo point. <--- Friends reference from 2005 since we're dragging up stuff from the past ;)
Seriously, Rock – you should pursue that idea (of remaking the game in another format that can properly support it). Like Mardek, there's just too much potential here to waste on sites like Kongregate. I would love to experience the rest of your story.

Erm... How come the Mutant Prince gets 100% Health restored if you allow him to back away from pursuing you when it's not labelled as one of his skills?
The gem system is essentially broken, due to the vast amount of gold it costs to remove gems in order to socket them into new equipment. Unless the gem in question is insanely boosted, it's simply not worth the price, so the player ends up simply keeping them socketed in discarded equipment while upgrading them, essentially removing them from the game. Seriously, the price of removing gems from equipment should be dropped to no more than 500, 1,000, 1,500 and 2,000 gold for the four rarities of equipment.
So apparently the developers have been faced with the "Purchased Failed" error message for a year now, and it still manages to crop up. Doesn't exactly strengthen my faith in their bug fixing abilities...
@Insomniac: Seems to me that your Catch Difficulty meter is broken. You've only got three or so first-level beasts at Average (none at Easy), a few more at Hard and then virtually all beasts across all levels at Very Hard. Not much point in having a difficulty meter when a beast that reaches 100% chance at 10% HP is rated as being as difficult to catch as one that never makes it past 27% even when at 1 HP and asleep.
@Insomniac: It's really a problem that the doors to the data rooms in the Sludge Co Dungeon only seem to open for the player that whacks the transformer station. That way, the dungeon cannot be completed by the other players until/unless that player decides to download the data.
@Insomniac: Glitch at the Gladiator's Grove Arena. In "Beat the Clock" vs. the flame beasts, "Detonate" targeted my primary monster but the damage was dealt to my benched monster (i.e. the monster that wasn't part of the battle was the one that got damaged). This happened twice in a row. Also, a general glitch is that damage is sometimes seen to target an empty space on the board with none of my monsters actually being hit.
@Insomniac: There's a glitch on Poisonthorn Peak. If you battle the monsters near the rare Viprillo's cage, it joins the battle as well, even though you haven't opened the cage yet.
@Insomniac: Another frequent clitch in connection with "Blizzard" occurs when your monster is hit with "Confused". At times, your handler will then tell the monster to use "Confused" instead of "Blizzard". Obviously, this is not possible, so the game just freezes until you restart it.
@Insomniac: Two points about "Blizzard" that you may already be aware of: 1) If your monster runs out of Stamina, it just freezes for the rest of the battle. Instead, you ought to get back control or be forced to "Nap" it to regain Stamina. 2) If another one of your monsters enters the battle after "Blizzard" has been cast, it is mistakenly treated as an enemy and injured by the spell. PS: Awesome game you guys have made. Love your witty dialogue (as always).
Honestly, those daily quests are a joke. I would prefer not having them to having to read about 1) Electric spider, 2) Mother Electric, 3) Gearhead, or 4) Grand Crank recycled endlessly. At the very least, have us kill or collect xx WITHOUT telling us where they are. Oh, and alter the prizes so that 90% of them aren't wood bundles. At this point, I don't even care enough to complete them any more.
Fundamentally flawed, I'd say. "Knightmare Tower" is a perfect example of how this kind of game should be made: You die because you're too slow, too weak, etc. To die from bingo fuel before going anywhere? Man, that's lame. I'll pass.
Wheee: My saves are still there! I guess that means you fixed the save bug that drove me away from this game two years ago. Thanks a bunch, Pseudolonewolf. And an even bigger thank you for creating by far the best free games I've ever come across on Kongregate or anywhere else - and for proving that expensive, FF-style graphics really don't matter as long as story, writing, characters and gameplay rock the house. I can't recommend the Mardek series highly enough, and I'm really looking forward to sinking my teeth into no. 3 once I'm done with this one :-D
No need to sail across spikes on 1-3 to cut your death toll to 1. Just perform seppuku in the right place, so animal number two can get the key, land on the corpse and clear the stage. Still can't move the cart on 5-2 without blocking the hole, though :-(
Same here: This game seemed to show promise. Great dialogue. But I only upgraded my Flash because the game TOLD me to, and now I've lost my saves because of it? When NO OTHER game on this site has given me any trouble? Screw that. Fix your damn game, man. My life's too short to waste on more of your bugs.
Thank you for the feedback. I will add your suggestion to our list of player suggestions to consider for future updates. :)
